I bet a lot of people during these times are re-considering their pay cheque to pay cheque living.
Football is unusual in that players have multi-year contracts which clubs are obliged to honour, regardless of circumstances.
While the rest of the economy will suffer massive redundancies on statutory minimum payouts, lower league clubs are saddled with obligations they cannot meet next season, if we assume that matches will be played without crowds for most or all of next season. After that is guesswork.
Probably the way in which football is structured will have to change fundamentally.
