As I said yesterday on the Politics thread with a majority of 80 Labour can't lay a glove on the Tories unless Conservative back benchers get involved. Steve Baker was certainly doing his best on the Sophy Ridge show to ensure that happens.

Unfortunately, with an 80 seat majority they can all do pretty much as they damn well want.

I’d have more respect for them if they apologised and said it would be dealt with internally.

In terms of journalism, it was pretty clever. Tories build a defence that then looks really sketchy when the additional reveal unravels it. It's not how journalism should be, the full story should just be reported, but that's not the world we are in.

It's a sore blow to take politically, the very senior MPs coming out and backing him was quite the petrol to add to the fire, and only caused further damage.

Can't see him lasting.

Another 33 and its game on.

With it being a bank holiday weekend, pretty sure Boris the Butcher won't be working to address the nation again. I hope I am wrong but your man likes a day off. Even in the worse crisis this country has faced in decades, having a day off for him, is like having a meal for the for slighty overweight PM. I hope we Pretty Awful or Handjob again today.
