I get the outrage but if any of you moaning about him have broken the rules yourselves, shut up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The rules Cummings helped create, you mean?
---------------------------------------------------
-------------------

Yes, there’s no point moaning about it if you’ve not listened to the rules anyway

----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is beyond illogical. If you are creating strict rules, including not allowing families of dead children/teenagers Attend their funerals. If you create something that explicitly states you can’t seek help even when you are suffering from COVID - and then break it on multiple occasions. You can rightly criticise the Cummins, no matter how you have adhered to the law.

You are able to highlight issues with society whilst living within/outside societal confounds. This ‘let he who is without sin’ mentality means that nobody would have a voice.

Johnson has just spent 30 minutes blustering and lying in the daily press conference. He has lost the little credibility he had left.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was simultaneously the most shameless and shameful thing I've ever watched. A new low for a gaggle I didn't think could sink any lower. I'm honestly appalled.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How old are you? Obviously not seen many governments
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He is pretty well spot on. It is about as shameless as I have ever seen as well. He broke every rule going, has been caught out, admitted everything, yet our PM still says

"In every respect, he has acted responsibly, legally and with integrity,"

He's not even defending it. It's as of he is just saying we should accept it because he is a politician

Conservative commentator Tim Montgomerie says Boris Johnson "put his prime ministerial authority on the line" by backing his aide Dominic Cummings.

Montgomerie, who runs the Conservative Home blog, told the BBC that Johnson's backing for Cummings "would burn a whole in the heart of public confidence in this government".

He added that issue showed "complete hypocrisy of setting rules that you do not then follow".

Shortly after today's briefing Montgomerie also tweeted that he was "really embarrassed to have ever backed Boris Johnson for high office".

Thoughts on that, Edbo?

That’s the problem though. This government has not been held to account over anything in the last ten years. Windrush, grenfell, austerity, Destroying the nhs, cutting back to police and fire service so badly crime and fire deaths rose hugely, allowing their corporate buddies to pay paying off the dup etc etc. People still overwhelmingly voted them in. They are now like a naughty child that got away with stealing sweets and has grown up into a monster of a human.

I literally think if Boris Johnson came in some peoples houses and p 1ssed on their children they would say ‘well he had to go somewhere ‘

Because, you know, he got brexit done, right?

I agree with you, but unfortunately there is unlikely to be an election for at least 3-4 years and this will be completely forgotten by most people then

Sadly in a 2 horse race you don’t need to be great, you just need to be better than your opposition and Labour have served up some of the weakest leadership imaginable.

I say this as a labour supporter but I believe the Labour Party takes a fair chunk of blame for failure to hold this government to account.

Maybe that's what the government wanted anyway, people to scared to go out or back to work but now they're outraged and furious everyone is purposely making a point of going out because of the cummings situation. Saw so many parties and gatherings on facebook last night, the lockdown is done. British people hate a hypocrite

Nah, the media absolutely destroyed Corbyn and fawned over Johnson, and given those two combinations and a dumb electorate, and this is what you now have.

Labour as a Party were absolutely better than what we now have, but the media made sure they didn`t have a chance of power.

Even the fact that people are saying ".... it's still better than if Corbyn was PM .... " makes you realise how gullible the electorate are.

Never was the saying "you get the government you deserve" more apt.

I absolutely despise Johnson.

The only people that should feel hard done by are those who have stuck to the rules - missed birthdays, funerals, not seen family for months, saying goodbye to dying relatives etc.

Nah.

If you write the rules you hold yourself to a higher standards not just lower the standards and lie when yoire caught. Me breaking lockdown doesnt erode public trust.

Lockdown is done now. People will do what the want far more and all because this arrigant pr!ck wanted a day out with his wife. To then have the leader of this country double down on it is nauseating.

I get why some people voted Tory and I cba to debunk the 'but Corbyn' moronicy but if any of you people vote for Cumming and his party of utter sh!thousery again then you need to put yourself in the bin.
