We had a BBQ, or should that be asado, last week to celebrate one of our Argentine guests birthday last week.

It was magnificent.

I even introduced them to Stornoway black pudding to replace their usual morcilla (sp?).

Fine weather in Scotland is when the it stops raining for 10 minutes

Stornoway pudding

Just gave me an idea there Ivan will fire some of that in.

I've got aromas from other folks' BBQ's past week or so.

It sure gives you a hankering for it.

Anyone else thinking bout it get your meat in a few days before reports

that shops might run out as folk loosen up a bit. All of mine is from

freezer will take it out Fri.

I tried to break lockdown today to go and have a beer in my mum's garden but failed. It was going to be a surprise. Google maps took me into a dead end and I missed the train with my bike. It was going to be 5 mile cycle, 1 hour 30 mins train, 10 mile cycle, 2 hours beer in garden, 10 mile cycle back, 1 hour 30 train, 5 mile cycle back and home for 11. I shall try again on Friday.

Heaved my BBQ in the tip just before they all closed. It was louping. Got a lava grill within my hob so it does the job for a small gathering. Expect my mate & his missus might pop round for a socially distant beverage? I've got 7 lavvies - they can use the gardeners

Lockdown Scotland? Even Hadrian couldn't do that when he built the wall.

Fan I've cancelled 6 camping expeditions past 7 weeks.

Getting a bit cabin-ey so anything outdoors suits.

Where to?

All in Scotland Galloway, Arran, Perthshire, Stirlingshire, & Lochaber.

Had to cancel umpteen hills days as well

I can be as petty minded as the next fella.

<Even Hadrian couldn't do that when he built the wall. >

He was a complex lad.

The only Roman Emperor of his epoch who hadn't won Battle Honours.

So he ordered a vanity project to be built in his name.

It was useless as a barrier.

Local garrisons opened the gates on request.

Monty Pythonesque Life of Brian 'Nah Freedom for me mate'.

You could also go round it.

Ooooh!

Usually do about 6 routes there in total.

Cancelled ones are Balquidder & Dunkeld ( Jock's Bothy route ).

Well for what it's worth Fan I wish I had more to do.

My missus' workplace hours are actually increased for her.

Real feelings of guilt when she comes in to say that garden's looking

wow!, or the dinner was great.

Getting out to work on the bothies is a bonus as well.

I have nothing to do around the house as we only moved just before lockdown and it was just newly renovated so no diy not even little jobs to do, so cutting grass is all I have to do

Hadrian wasn't half as complex as Nero.

- Killed his mother.
- Kicked his pregnant wife to death.
- Bought a slave that looked like her, castrated him then married him and called him his dead wife's name.
- Married two other men but didn't castrate them as Nero played the wife role.
- Committed suicide
- His widowed eunuch then marries another emperor hopeful who has the same name as him.
- Both he and a subsequent emperor husband are killed by rivals.
- Said eunuch hooks up with a 4th emperor who decides for a bit of fun to dress his eunuch up as a woman and have him / her raped as half time entertainment at the Coliseum.
- Eunuch commits suicide to avoid the humiliation
