You see, it's been so long I've forgotten all the smileys
Hello hello!!
Still clinging on here in NJ, but plans are up and running to get out of here, likely August and to head west. Missus got great news and can now work remotely forever so the world is our oyster . I have suggested we just bounce around good hotels while she works and I go out exploring, she doesn't seem convinced by this as yet.
I want the season to finish but can't say I have missed footy to be honest up to this point. Not sure how euro comps will finish, maybe a mini tournament in the close season rather than jetting back and forth to Europe now.
Got to be honest, I've forgotten all about football for the most part during this.
Not sure about what I want in terms of finishing the season / starting next season either. Whatever is safer, fairer and easiest to implement. It would just be nice to have sport back soon.
I'd like to see my Villa survive, West Ham relegated and Leeds, Fulham and Forest promoted😃
F 0 ck the Baggies. Waste of space team. Smelly Stadium too🤢
Always quite liked Fulham. Lovely away day👌
I have enjoyed the lockdown. Coincided with moving in to a new house, and the weather' has been good, so lots of cycling and walking, in danger of getting fit.
But really missed the football and other interests because every day is pretty much the same with no 'occasions' to look forward to. What I really want back is trips to the Molineux but I would be surprised if that happened again in 2020. Football behind closed doors doesn't appeal at all as a spectacle, unless its compared to no football at all, then it seems quite attractive.
Looks like late June is now the likely resumption date and then a swift work through the fixtures over maybe 5 weeks, with 2 games a week.
Wouldnt say I've exactly enjoyed lockdown, but I have been making an effort to get a bit fitter, haven't lost any weight due to far too frequent trips to the fridge and the beer stash.
It's been interesting to see how things have progressed in Germany. It seems inevitable now that the Premier league will return in a few weeks time in some form, whether that's right or wrong will remain a debate for some time. Not surprising that UEFA and FIFA have been completely absent from the re-start debate leaving us with a mish-mash of countries making unilateral decisions and even individual divisions voting for different scenarios with clubs voting according to their individual vested interests.
Ideally Id love to see football return and the leagues played out but whether that's a good idea at this time or even next month Im not sure. Some calculated risks will have to start to be made to get things back to normal-ish but if you want to start seeing your elderly parents again (for example) you're not going to be going to a football ground until they've been vaccinated. These are the kinds of choices and compromises that the new normal will throw up.
As you may well be aware, tonight would have been the Europe League final in Gdansk. Was just reflecting on that with mates in a Whatsapp group, I asked one of the lads if he'd cancelled the rooms he'd booked in advance after we qualified from the group. His response..... Oh sh!t...
Hey up Wulfs
Lock down for us has been a bit of a non entity to be honest. Apart from taking over the shopping duties from the wife and not being able to go out and do my handyman stuff, nothing much has changed.
I most definitely have missed the football though with nothing else to look forward to. I want the the football to resume and even though it will be behind closed doors I shall make a point to watch every game. I guess it will be a bit like watching U23 games.
Can't see what the big problem is with recommencing sport in the UK. The government have made a total shambles of the whole Covid-19 thing and as there are now beaches packed with people who don't seem to give a shiite, I'm sure far more control can be applied to a football match behind closed dors.
I think the vast majority in the uk have complied with the lockdown very well. But its wearing thin now and an easing of restrictions is almost needed just to keep up with people getting restless anyway.
Don't think theres much to stop behind closed doors football starting up here now and 19th or 26th June being put forward as the start times. The two games outstanding to get everyone up to 29 games will be played first. Then if theres a second spike and the thing has to be abandoned then the table will be left to stand with everyone having played the same number of games.
Saw speculation today that at weekends all the games could be played in two days with kick offs at 12:00, 14:00, 16:00, 18:00 and 20:00. Don't know what will happen midweek but the plan is for there to be two sets of fixtures each week so the season ends around the end of July.
Then in August they will try to finish off the Europa and Champions League games, and the FA Cup before starting the 20/21 season in September.
Other factor is that the number of cases of covid is going down steadily now to the point where it could be largely gone from the uk in a couple of months. If we get to that point then maybe football with crowds might not be that many months away after all.
So now they’ve decided the Premier League will restart on June 17 with the two catch up games, Man City v Arsenal and Villa v Sheffield Utd
Presume that means Wolves will play on Sat 20th or Sunday 21st. If the fixtures are to be played in the same order as before the break, we will be at West Ham
The big remaining question is where the matches are going to be played. I suspect that some quiet concessions have been made to allow clubs to play their games at their home stadiums and this will be confirmed in the coming days. Though what real advantage this gives with no crowds is hard to see.
The danger of hard of thinking gathering outside stadiums on match days is probably unavoidable wherever matches are held (unless its really remote) but that cant really be controlled.
Seems that the vast majority of games will be played on home grounds. But 6 matches have been earmarked as to be played on neutral games for safety, mainly involving the key Liverpool games
The web site says that supporters who have purchased tickets for the postponed Bournemouth gane have been contacted by email regarding a possible refund or credit. I hadn't been so emailed them and was told that I would need to contact the ticket office. What was the point?
Haven't listened to WM for three months - a new personal best. Don't miss football in the slightest and neither will anybody else when the second wave of the plandemic hits. This was just a dry run to see if the sheep would cower under the onslaught of media lies.

thousands of the old and frail dead or see wolves again then it's wolves every time for me matey
Im still waiting for my Wolves mask to turn up that I ordered a month ago. Doubt it will help protect me from "media lies" or indeed mad conspiracy theorists though?
Watching the Sherpa Van Trophy final on Youtube but can't stand any more of Chris Iwelumo so listening to Pink Floyd live playing Comfortably Numb. Seems appropriate!
And now Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd . Could have been written for Steve Bull - "Do something you love and understand" Oh hell yeah!
a coincidence gem, i was listening to music at the same time - you tube vids of some teenage nerds blown away by seeing and hearing freddie and queen for the first time
