Seems a no brainer for any top club to get him. I'd be surprised if we have definitely bailed from this deal after spending 18 months flirting, but maybe we've been hit really hard by COVID.

I think it's a ploy to just try to get him cheaper. The lad seems absolutely desperate to come to us and I suspect he will wait to see what happens before deciding to move somewhere else. Could turn into an interesting saga.

Another year in Germany and his fee drops to £35m. The fact that we are willing to let this deal collapse and in the same time no one else has jumped in tells you the market is dead.

Liverpool can’t afford to pay their staff, they aren’t spending 49m

Has there been any report about wage negotiations with Liverpool?

The little cuuunt's desperate to play for Liverpool, wouldn't want my club going anywhere near him.

Well it doesn't. Who would have jumped in at this point with the season ongoing and outside of the transfer window?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Clubs don't wait till the window to open before they speak to player representatives. There simply isn't the money going around for clubs to pay pre covid transfer fees.

I'd say the five richest club in the world and soon to be most successful club in the country can afford him.

Yeah I think that's likely. When you know the player wants to come, it's not uncommon for a club to try to negotiate down the price

Nah, I didn’t bring up a tragedy to point score against complete strangers 👉

It's just Edwards rocking the boat to see where he can save money. I won't be surprised if his bonuses are related to the amount he can save the club.

Every report that comes says that if we're not happy with player A we will move to player B with no fuss. It's only Van Dijk & maybe Keita that we stuck to our guns on.

Salah, Mane, Robertson, Shaqiri among others all weren't exactly first choice.

I full faith in the man tbh.

Madrid should come in for him. Benzema is getting on and they need more fire power.

I think a lot of clubs are waiting to see what each other do about transfers.

the 1st club to spend tens of millions on a player will have the media and fans all over them, no one wants that kind of bad publicity in the current climate.

Barca and Real Madrid have cut wages by 10-30% do you really think those players will sit back and say, no problem you spend £100 million on a player while reducing our wages.

You really think Perez won't spend money in the window leading up to a club presidential election? He's being challenged and will need to make a statement ahead of elections.

Watch as clubs like Liverpool ‘magically’ find huge sums to spend on transfers, despite filing for furloughing, or considering it, basically sticking two fingers up at the gullible public.
