Rioting, looting, burning, and destroying your communities ain’t the answer.
———

No one is saying it’s the answer

People are saying that it’s the only logical reaction people are having after centuries of abuse and misjustice.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Out of curiosity would the RAs response in Northern Ireland have been the logical reaction?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Hard to say. Bombing innocent people - of course not but rioting and protesting I could understand. But they are different situations tbf so would require a different debate I think
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not that different Robb
We also suffered centuries of abuse and misjustice
Take the famine for example
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Also racism in the fact we were second class citizens in our own country
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I get that - I was saying that I would sympathise with anyone in those circumstances. But I would have to draw a line with the murder of innocent people. I would absolutely understand if they got to the level of what is happening in the US however
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyway there’s your 200 comment article tomorrow
----------------------------------------------------------------------

😹 I do actually agree with you here. Half my family is Irish so I do understand how bad the Irish have been treated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would that be the criminal element sent there in the 1800s?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

😹 nah, more like the ones sick of the troubles in the 70’s 😉

A very deep scar that left both north and south
My whole childhood all that was on the news or all grown ups talked about was “the trouble up there”

I really want to discuss agitators and the potential consequnces. I am hesistant to flood a football forum with political posts and would ordinarily not when football is on.
Let me know if you feel strongly feel either way about me creating a thread on the agitators or people will simply discuss it here if they want to.

Yeah, some of the stories I heard they went through were horrific. Very glad they gave me the chance to grow up somewhere sunny and less crazy 😅. Though I was in Bournemouth when one of the bombs went off so I didn’t quite escape it.

How are you so sure?

.......

Because this administration doesn’t want it to change.

We might have seen something happen after 2015 but sadly some people thought Trump was the lesser of two evils.

This happened long before Trump and while he’s the fuel on the fire right now, this has been a powder keg waiting to go off for decades. The police in the US are some of the worst in the world and hopefully now they will be held to even greater scrutiny.

......:

I know Robb. I have lived here since 97. The Baltimore riots in 2015 were a big thing at the time. They were not just confined to Baltimore. They spread to other cities like these have. Last night probably saw the eclipse of them.

my final words on this thread

I think the solutions are simple but also complicated because of the personalities/egos involved

1)Pacify. When you screw up and someone comes at you, your first intent should be to pacify, not stand your ground or show aggression rather humility and understanding. This is not being done rather protesters, reporter and rioters are all greeted with aggression alike.

2)Show intent you recognise the problem you will do what it takes to make it right. At least order an independent enquiry into past claims of police brutality with the intentions to root out the bad apples and take advice on how to fix the issue going forward.

3)Going forward all officers must have body cams on when talking to a suspect and the footage should be readily availble.

now what are the chances of this happening under donald or a corrupt organisation allowing an independent party to review its past and future action. Probably close to zero.

What i expect will happen is that the longer the protests goes on the more embarrassed donald gets and this will force his hands. I cannot predict what he will do at that point with the whole world watching

Not.read the thread.

Tragic what happened.to the fella. The cop should get life.

As for the opportunistic looters, shocking behaviour and no help to the cause

.......

Force his hands to do what? He doesn’t care in the slightest. This is a distraction from his poor performance with the virus.

posted on 1/6/20

Yeah i was gonna say the same thing, the handling of the virus has been a catastrophe and he will be delighted with these riots distracting people.

you really are deplorable.
1) it really is not theat hard to quote the point
2) maybe if you quoted what I said properly you wouldn't have to ask the question
3) as proven time and time again you are wrong once more. He clearly cares enough about the protest. In his own words it was a disgrace and that is why he is now deploying the military

anyway like said i really don't what he would do. But I didn't have to wait long. The world is watching. At this point the protesters imo have made their point and the world can see america for what it truly is and it is not a land of the free. They demanded to be listened to and were met by force

Like I said in my original post about what could lead to a peaceful resolution trumps ego would not allow it he will rather flex his military might #bunkerboy

The way they tried to deceive people even when video footage was obvious how he died. The official line just demonstrates the racism in that nation.

This. Look at how they behaved after the killing of Ahmaud. That should tell you everything.

Trump will get impeached for turning security forces on law biding, peaceful US citizens, exercising their constitution given 1st amendment right (think it's the first one anyway). That was a suicidal move from him and even if he's not impeached, it's cost him any possible shot at re-election. Rednecks who are happy to see cops kill black people, are losing their minds over that stunt.

Which is why I think he will be stuck on a pitch fork for the masses by the republican party, in a desperate move to hang on to votes. It's just a matter of time because thanks to Trump, now even in rednecksvillle Alabama, the republicans are staring down the barrel of a landslide loss. The Donald has now become the Done For. Party has no choice but to cut him loose or lose both houses for sure. Spelling utter disaster for their biggest contributors, the oil industry and gun lobby. No way they let that happen without at least trying to save it.

The whole world will shortly be allowed to awaken from the destructive nightmare that has been Trump in the Whitehouse. Just watch world affairs and conflicts generally begin to settle down, directly as a result too. Make no mistake, the death of George Floyd, unlike the many other black men killed by racist cops. Will cause a precious gift to be given to the entire planet. The end of Donald Trump!

RIP George. The entire world owes you an unpayable debt.
