Do we not have some decent young uns about due a shot from a defensive POV, why always look to buy, we are supposed to have a really good academy.

I tend to agree
However, you have the opportunity to make your name in the history of the game with 10IAR.
Do you
a. sign a quality player in a crucial position
or
b. take a chance on an academy prospect
transfer window is key this year, and if it wasn't for this virus i'd say no excuse with the funs available to us.
they will use it though, and I expect them to milk it.
I think Lennon rates Walsh highly, he also looked pretty decent when he did get a chance.

Do have concerns about relying on young lads for next season though, the pressure will be ridiculous.
lad might well be fine, and any other year it would be "risky"
this year though? not worth the chance mate, not in the slightest.
15 players including Levein and McPhee out the door at Hearts today.
Another 4 still waiting to find out if they will get new contracts.
They could stumble into another financial meltdown.
feel for their staff, don't want anyone to lose their job.
still hate their fans tho.

Never let us down and kept his place in a Morton team until recalled as injury cover for Hatem. Other guys have filled at CB but are not CBs. We have the Norwegian boy Hjelde but he's nowhere near ready.
Paterson at LB is a prospect. Rapid and can keep tabs on Dembele. Just given a 3-year. NOt sure what will happen with O'Connor as he's another that's played at CB but is a RB all day long.
I heard about Paterson, apparently lightning quick which is always ideal for a full back.
I'm excited to see Frimpong kick on next season as well.
Forster
El Hammed
Julien
Ajer/New CB
Frimpong/Forrest
Brown
McGregor
Ntcham/Christie/Rogic
New Left sided player
Eddy
Griffiths/New striker
Ideally that's what i'd like to go into the new season with.
Klimala isn't going to cut it from what i seen, which was little but enough to see he had the first touch of John Leslie.
Soro is another who may struggle for game time given who is ahead of him in the pecking order so wouldn't be surprised to see him go on loan for 6 months or so.
Good to see the best striker in Scotland nominated for the football writers POTY this morning.
It's also nice to see Edouard getting in among the nominations too. He's almost as good as Shankland.
Almost.
Imagine Eddy will run away with it.

Unfortunately we all know corruption is rife and those most deserving are often left unrewarded.
All the best to both Jonny and Jozo, wherever they end up.
Was genuinely surprised by just how poor a footballer Hayes looked in a Celtic shirt. Always thought he looked decent against us for the Dons, but he never came close to replicating that form. Of course, to be fair, it didn’t exactly help his settling in that we seemed intent on playing him anywhere but his natural (only?) position of LW. Have rarely seen a player less capable of playing on his wrong side.
Jozo at times looked like he might be a player, but he never fulfilled that. Being highly injury-prone didn’t help. Disappointing that we failed to cash in on him at some point. Poor business that.
With Kouassi out of the door as well, that’s three decent wages off the books for guys who won’t exactly be missed on the park.

Kouassi, Hayes, Jozo, Gordon all off the wage bill the past few weeks, can't be far off 70K a week.

Yeah i think he's pretty much gone too, Hearts would have signed him had they not been so sheidt and lost on a vote....

I never knew Gordon was gone. He was terrific at the start. Took a gamble and effectively got a £10M keeper for free. I think his form fell away but credit to him for turning down Chelsea and being their second choice keeper to fight for his place at Celtic. Ultimately Rodgers wanted a ball playing keeper and brought in Bain who was neither and despite being decent for us IMO is not as good as Gordon.
sorry not Bain - De Vries
