Yes, but all players will have a period of average form.
Generally though, I watch players like him play and feel that I'd describe them as a better player than someone like Kante.
I guess that means I'm leaning towards technique over effectiveness.

Maybe he thinks it, maybe he doesn't. Surprised people care so much!
Rashford will find himself on the list eventually I'm sure, but you can't have him in based on a few months of hot form. He needs to be doing that over seasons.

You complete wally. The problem with basing your opinion of a player based on the opinion of others is... well, see below:
He's started 3 games for Inter and appeared in 8 in total and scored 1 and assisted 1. No time at all to make a serious judgement of a player in a new team, in a new league, in a new country, mid-season.

I like this new Kante...he's not just all running and pressing and tackling. He's got some end product to his play now. Not so much this season but last season I thought he added another layer to his game.

He’s always been a much better footballer than people have let on. He didn’t hit the same heights last season as he has done previously, but was still our best midfielder despite the change of role. Injuries have prevented him from finding any form this season, although I think tactically Lampard hasn’t found the right balance in our midfield yet.

Dele doesn't deserve to be on there. He hasn't carried that early form with him for the past 2 years now.
Son would probably be just outside the top 10. I'd say he's been at the best he's ever been at Spurs right now and could force his way into the top 10 soon.

Dele is quietly having a good season, especially considering how deep he has had to play at times. However suggesting he is top 10 is absurd. Even during his peak.
1) KDB
2) Salah
3) Pogba
4) Aubameyang
5) Kane
6) Mane
7) Sterling
8) Mahrez
9) Aguero
10) Kante
*Obviously a few years ago Ozil would be top of this list
I also expect Nicholas Pepe to establish himself as the PL’s top winger next season. The skills are crazy.

Hard to make an argument for any United player right now.
Pogba at his best is a shoe in but he doesn’t show up enough.
Bruno if he sustains his form over a longer period will likely be there.
Rashford if he can continue where he left off would be a contender.
De Gea if he can cut out the mistakes that have crept into his game.

Good points except De Gea. He’s been average (one or two performances aside) since the 2018 World Cup.
