I think you deserve a medal for the most miserable person on the planet.
No point in having closed door cricket, It will be dull . Best is to only to do the necessary things in midst of this pandemic and very one can survive without sports
A lot of county cricket is pretty much like closed-door anyway!
Plenty of things are coming back. A lot of shops have opened or will open, pubs are coming back (hopefully). So I'm fine with sport starting up again, as long as the relevant precautions are taken.
Problem with cricket seems to be the ball. It will go though a lot of sweaty hands. Plenty of hand sanitisers needed. You can't catch the ball with normal gloves and then if you introduce special grip gloves it goes against the spirit of the game.

1. Plays crap.
2. Gets dropped.
3. "Takes a break" from Tests immediately afterwards as though it was his choice all along instead of the fact he was dropped for playing crap.
4. Moans in an interview that he's always the first to be blamed when England lose - as though it's victimisation, not just because he plays crap.
5. Says he's willing to play Test cricket again. As if it's some major hardship, like he's doing the selectors a favour, rather than it being a huge privilege he should earn. And again, ignoring the fact that he was dropped in the first place for, yes, playing crap.
6. Gets called up again.
What's that all about then
I don't see what Moeen said was wrong? He is the blame guy even though the series before he was one of the leading players.
It's the same in one dayers. He was the best bowler against Pakistan but because the top order failed and he didnt score the runs to win the game he gets dropped.
He took some time out to spend with family and refocus. Most cricketers take time out after playing home and away none stop for 5-6 years.
He's a good ODI player and should be in the team.
He's a bad test player and should not be in the team.
He was dropped for poor performances, not given time off for R&R. Saying he's now "willing" to play tests again is hugely presumptuous and arrogant when he's not played any red-ball cricket in the intervening period to earn his spot back.
It just comes across as assuming he can wander back into the side whenever it suits him, and ignoring the fact that he's been crap for some time so should really be proving he deserves his spot, not just assuming it's his whenever he decides he fancies it.
Moeen will come straight back in as I don't think they trust the other spin bowlers. Also can bat 7 and keep 4 seamers in the side. Would mean butler batting at 6.
I don't think Moeen will walk straight back in. He really doesn't deserve it. Leach should play and my guess is that it'll be with Anderson, Broad and Wood (if he's fit).
I was looking at the 30 to see who'd be a replacement for Root in the side. Lawrence seems to be the only other middle order specialist bat in there who wouldn't be in the XI. I'd personally give him a chance but I don't think we will which means we'll probably go Burns, Sibley, Crawley and Denly for the top 4. Stokes, Pope and Buttler to follow and then 3 seamers and a spinner. There might be a temptation to go with 2 spinners depending on the pitch as the weather other than about 3 or 4 days has been glorious this summer.
Must be gutting that they couldn't play these matches in May where we didn't have a drop of rain

He seems to bowl better when he's not the sole spinner in the side and he certainly seems to bowl well in tandem with Rashid who I'm sure featured in the majority of matches in those 3 series.
If the pitches dictate the need to have two spinners then I'd be tempted to pick him. He certainly frustrates with the bat considering that's meant to be the stronger part of his game but if he performs with the ball then that doesn't matter quite so much.
I do think Moeen has been more harshly criticised and dropped in the past, more so than other players when so many have performed poorly. However he just doesn't seem to have the confidence to be our main spinner despite often being the best performing spinner when we play 2 or more.
