Sandy every now and then pops over to the cricket board to remind us all how rubbish England are. Not sure how much cricket he actually watches but it can’t be much.

I have been watching cricket for over 60 years. Modern game is rubbish though. All the modern players are crash bang wallop one day merchants.
Game has so many stoppages as well, if it isn't the weather, it is drinks change of ball, adjusting straps on helmets, unlacing boots. Players leaving the pitch every five minutes. They barely play 15 minutes without a break.

Throughout the series. They showed plenty to allow them to win the first test and then worked hard in the second match especially after Sibley and Stokes put on a big partnership with proper test match batting. They had partnerships in that game but Stokes was just too good. I'm guessing you missed that all this by the way because you're only talking about this match.

Are there really any proper Test players anymore? Players that can bat out sessions. One day stuff has ruined test cricket. Batsmen simply incapable of playing time. Easy to bowl out teams now in a couple of sessions.

Yes and England have a few of them yet they were criticised by some for batting too slowly.
Windies have shown some quality with the bat at least for the first half of the series. Understandable in the current climate that they would struggle especially towards the end but they deserve a huge amount of credit. The way Hope and Chase got out is disappointing but all in all, they've been excellent.

England have a lot of one day merchants, take them away from Englush conditions, and most are pretty useless at test match stuff.

We haven't had a team full of one day merchants for a good 8/9 months now

Think this West Indies line up has had very little first class cricket recently. Heard during lunch that some haven’t had a 4 day game since 2017. So when you come to England with Broad and Anderson under cloud and drizzle, it’s going to be very difficult.

Not entirely sure West Indies are the best example to bemoan the modern game anyway. They're a young, inexperienced side and are ranked 8th in the world for a reason.

These are not Test Match quality cricketers.
No doubt Windies have been rubbish today, but overall they've done well.
Losing 2-1 in England without two of their best batsman is a good effort. England are a seriously hard team to beat at home.
Sandy - Yes, they're limping to the end of the series and not putting up much of a fight in this innings. However that doesn't mean they haven't shown fight throughout the series. They're probably looking forward to going home as we're in strange times and they've been over here for 6 weeks during a pandemic to effectively be guinea pigs to see if test cricket can work.
They have been excellent for the majority of this series and to say they have been pathetic and shown no fight in this series is just untrue.
