The Premier League chief exec said this on Saturday:

"VAR has its own social distancing issues, but we think there is a way of completing the season with VAR. Absolutely our intention is to complete the season with VAR in place."

To be fair they still don't know where the games will be played. It's a frigging shambles.

posted on 2/6/20

I don't think it's a shambles at all, just uncertain and unprecedented times.

I wouldn't organise a dinner without booking the venue.

posted on 2/6/20

only asked as, just watching the reply of the game, koln v leipzig & the var is down to the ref, when he thinks he needs it he goes to a telebox on the sideline to watch again from diff angels, seems quite effective, no need for loads of bods miles away

I would. In fact I do it all the time and then make the booking.

The venues were organised before the season started, the dates have just changed due to a global pandemic

posted on 2/6/20

Right. Where's the first game being held?

posted on 2/6/20

Whose playing

I haven’t seen a dated fixture list yet

posted on 2/6/20

exactly my point.

It's okay to admit you want football back but the organisation is terrible. Masters couldn't even confirm if Liverpool would be playing at Anfield.

That doesn’t have anything to do with the venues

I think it’s more to do with dates and times being confirmed which is due to happen this week.

posted on 2/6/20

It's both. They can't confirm where games will be played because the emergency services have to be consulted.

The venues are confirmed, however there are some games I believe 4 that could be moved.

I don’t think this will happen though, but we’re find out later this week.

Will Liverpool play any games at Anfield? Will there be a trophy presentation?
"That's part of the discussion and while they are ongoing, I can't reveal any details.

What part of that makes you think the venues are confirmed?

I mean, we know games will be played in stadiums, if that's what you mean.

I just told you what I think will happen this week above re the remaining fixtures.

To clarify I think neutral stadiums will be only be used should the police and local authorities express serious concerns.

Until told differently games will be played where the original fixture was meant to be played.

What do you think will happen

You are wasting your time trying to get any Liverpool fans on here to admit there are any faults with the Prem restart arrangements.

If 100 players tested positive the day before kick off they would say it wasn't a problem.

Going from what the PL are saying I'm not sure what will happen. Obviously they want everything to be as normal as possible for TV, but If there's a surge in infections and hospital admissions in the meantime there's a chance it won't happen at all.

My gut feeling is they'll struggle getting the OK from the emergency services in areas where the hospitals are still dealing with a high number of Covid patients. I guess they could buy up private hospitals.. I dunno.

If they are going to press ahead with it whatever happens they should be looking at the least-affected areas and plan for hosting games there.

If there is a surge in infections/deaths then yeah who knows what will happen.

At this time with the virus curve going in the right direction I expect what I have written above to happen.

It should all be confirmed by the end of the week

I certainly didn't think it would restart with this many people still dying everyday.

If I'm guilty of anything its underestimating the greed of the clubs and the desperation of Sky.

Putting the huge integrity issue to one side everytime I've tried to watch a German game I've found myself turning it off but the fact that its rubbish without a crowd doesn't seem to matter?

I’ve only watched the Leipzig games tbf because of Werner and they’ve been a good watch. I can’t really comment on the others.

Re the voiding issue, the PL is a multi billion pound industry, you didn’t really think they would say we’ve an outbreak here let’s just scrap a 75% completed season and start a new season as planned or when it’s safe

posted on 2/6/20

Hopefully its in the bin and en route to the scrap heap

If somebody had said to me back in March when the lockdown started that football would be back in June with over 300 dying a day I would of said don't be ridiculous.

I love the way that those with a vested interest like Gary Lineker and Alan Smith say that it will give the country a much needed morale boost.

Football with no crowd is about as morale boosting as getting stuck in a lift with Greta Thunberg.
