Racism doesn’t work both ways when the chips are stacked in your favour.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bit wishy washy.

If you think it cool to hate or loathe white people or other races, that is just weird.

Of course black people get it worse.

But, why copy racists,

Bit daft, innit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nobody said it’s okay. But you’re making a false equivalence with racism between the two. They are not, never have been and never will be the same.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is racism ok in certain circumstances?

Asking for my wizard mate and Nation of Islam landlord.

I haven’t assumed anything of you.

The biggest issue is subconscious bias and prejudice.

Anyone can identify a racist comment or action. That’s the easy part and just a numbers game.

What’s harder to understand is the prejudice that black people face every single day.

That runs through police stopping people driving, job interviews... you name it, it affects all aspects of life.

We have it fairly good in the UK, far better than the US. But we have our own issues still and we will do for decades to come.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Totally agree, Winston.

No argument here at all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Great, then presumably you can understand the frustration when people come up with an anecdote and claim that racism works both ways?

Because with the real issues of racism in the US and in the UK, it doesn’t work both ways.

Individual occasions of racist comments by black people does not change that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t get why it’s so hard for some people to understand this.

Racism isn’t ok, why are you asking that? The point is that they don’t work both ways when their damage isn’t equivalent. If you think white people being racially abused is comparable to the explicit, and implicit, insidious racism that black people receive then you must be an idiot.

Because the policemen was doing his job of apprehending somebody involved in a criminal offence. Has Chauvin been convicted of a criminal offence?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's been reported that Chauvin had history of improper conduct that was excused or overlooked by his superiors.
He wasnt in fact doing his job last week and neither were his colleagues
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was a thug and his colleagues, white and not white, were bystanders to murder.

Racism of any kind directed at anyone isn’t acceptable.

I’m not saying it’s acceptable, I’m saying they don’t hold equal weight.

It's ok to label innocent police officers institutionally racist and thereby endanger their lives. A police officer in america was shot in the back of his head recently, another hit by a car.

It's ok to encourage this kind of hate and violence based on no evidence. Because of slavery 150 years plus ago.

What a crazy world.

Fair call man.

I am not saying black racism against whites cancels out white cops killing black men and women.

It's just the thing that some fear speaking of.

Does not take away from racist cops killing black folk.

I never meant this to sound that way....

I have tried to walk in a black persons shoes this week, to get where it comes from, but it's pretence and I can only assume, and empathize.

Being white in Ulster is no big deal, LMAO.

Of course it’s not the same. The black man was routinely lynched in America for being black and it’s not that long ago they were slaves there. Civil rights movement wasn’t long ago. They were thrown into the pit and have had to start there, whilst being hated and systematically abused. They are in an impossible position and to say they have equal treatment to the white man is insane. No chance. The black man and woman in America will never have equal treatment and starting base because they are black and America doesn’t want them to. End of story
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So, going forward, laughing boy.???

How do we sort this?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Start by not saying laughing boy to someone making a serious point, snivelling boy.

Just seen this thread
I understand from the first page it is someone claiming the police force is not instituional racist and a bunch of people agreeing with him (only read the first page)?

All I have to say is a racist will always be a racist and those that don't want to acknowledge racism will go out of their way to justify it. After the video if you are still in denial of racism in my eyes you are just as bad as the actual racists and I will not treat you any different.

Is racism ok in certain circumstances?

.....

This seems to be ok with more than a few posters on here.

To be fair it is the ones I expect it from.

That I don’t tolerate racism in any form appears to be bad.

Very odd.

Who said racism is ok?

Who said racism against one group is better than another group?

Sorry.

He murdered a bloke by putting his knee on his neck for 9 minutes, and after 6, listening to the guy ask for his Moma and breathe, the guy passed out....yet still he kept his knee on him..

Cop was a bouncer too, and they like a fight and easy meat, and so he got George Floyd, who he worked with before on doors, and yet still treated him like a dog .

This was evil and murder, possibly based on race, and no excuses are needed or wanted....it was murder

If it was a one off, or not after slavery and oppression, perhaps we could play the law card?.......nah, that just bollox too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The cop that killed Floyd used to work with him?

Yes, apparently they were bouncers at same venues?

That said, you know bouncers.
