I like him though obviously.

We'll just sign someone else probably.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We don't need his link up play. We can play Bobby as a 10 for that. We need his prowess in front of goal!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How many goals do you want us to score?

We've had the leagues top scorer the past two seasons and have scored nearly 100 goals this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
YeAh BuT iF wE sIgN a StRiKeR wHo ScOrEs MoRe GoAlS wE WiLl ScOrE mOrE or somthing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We should be looking to build a squad of 22 players so we are easily able to put out 2 teams of the highest quality. To achieve that we have to splash the cash.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

no. to do that, we first need to increase the revenue to support that number of top class players wages and bonuses without incurring large losses.

the way you want to do it, we'll be bankrupt within a handful of years, especially during a period when revenue has dropped to a comparative trickle, and no idea when things will return to, and then remain normal.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not if FSG were financing the deals and the club like all good owners should do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Except that this isn't allowed under FFP. A point that you conveniently ignored when I mentioned it before.

City have just been banned from the CL for 2 years because too much of their income supposedly came from the owners pocket. It is specifically against the rules for owners to bankroll clubs out of their own pocket.

You are supposedly a Liverpool fan demanding that the owners engage in conduct that would see us banned from european competition and potentially also face sanctions in the league.

We would also then be in the position (like under H and G) that if the owners decided to pack up and sell then the club wouldn't be able to afford its liabilities and could go under. So again, you are claiming to be a Liverpool fan whilst advocating for a position thay endangers the future of the club you claim to support.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who is to say that the owners would walk away though? Roman has been at Chelsea for nearly 20 years, PSG and City's owners about 10 years. I am not suggesting FSG should spend silly amounts every season. This summer however is a must! We need to stay at the top of our game and spend big to make sure our squad is able to compete in every single Competition we take part in. Having spent nothing for nearky 2 years we should be able to go on at least 1 massive spree taking into account our prize money and TV revenue etc.

common sense.

our owners are business men, this is their job, and their income. they ultimately want to make a profit, whether that is through the clubs being profitable, or by increasing their market value.

if they run the club the way you want, then making a profit is impossible, so they will bail. they will provide a certain amount of their own money where it is available, allowed, and makes long term investment/loan sense without unduly risking too much of their resources, or the clubs short and long term financial stability.

they're not hyper-rich royalty and oil magnates. they don't have spare billions they can just waste on chasing success or sportwashing their family and countries history and behaviour, or sovereign wealth funds they can raid/abuse for dodgy sponsorship deals to hide or cover massive annual losses.

they have invested in the team, the stadium, and the training facilities, and will continue to do so.

stop having a hissy fit and throwing your toys out of the pram just because they've not committed to spending a very large sum of money on a player who appears would provide at most an minor incremental increase in squad ability, with a fairly high risk of failure. especially when waiting a couple of weeks may have reduced his sale price significantly. especially considering the transfer window ISN'T EVEN OPEN YET.

Who is to say the owners won't walk away? Your entire argument is based on a hypothetical assumption that we will be unable to compete without massive investment (on the scale of City and PSG) so I'm entitled to ask about my hypothetical situations as well.

You're suggesting that the owners should spend far on excess of what the club earns to compete in every competition, yet you continue to ignore the fact that thos would lead to potential CL bans and PL sanctions which could make it impossible to compete in these competitions.

Man City have a squad that cost nearly double ours when inflation is taken into account. They have never effectively competed in every competition in a season (One CL semi is their best return in Europe so far) and if they don't win it this season then they might have to wait 2 years before they can compete in it.

United have also outspent us on their current squad and have come nowhere close to competing for obe of the top 2 honours in 7 years.

Money correlates with success but it isn't a guarantee. You go on about this Werner situation being a missed opportunity but at the same time moan about how Keita was a bad signing. Who is to say that Werner wouldn't fail to settle at Liverpool and also be a bad signing?

The current owners have so far been good owners. They have made some very notable mistakes, yet have always shown themselves willing to listen to the fanbase and re-assess. They have overseen a CL, another final (and EL final), 2 extremely close and thrilling title races, and what is likely to be our first title in 30 years (potentially with a record points total). They have earned the right to balance the finances as they see fit for the time being.

Maybe we will get Dembélé now as it is clear Klopp wants a quick player in the team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As if! He would cost more than Werner 😂. And let's not forget he fluffed the biggest moment of his career when Barca were 3-0 up 😂 We'll end up with Fraser and a couple of $hite free transfers keeping the net spend down .

there's reports all over the place that we're looking at Jadon Sancho now.
not sure if they're believable, or if journo's are just switching over to the next big name looking for a step up.
the same reports are saying werners' fee was an issue in the current climate, and Sancho would cost even more, but that our owner's would find the money IF Klopp wanted the player badly enough, and that Klopp thinks there's room for him even without selling mane or salah.

seems an odd one considering what the transfer fee would be, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility that Sancho was our preferred option all along. couple of years younger, arguably more potential, and would count as home-grown.

Indeed, but yours more than most. Fraser would suit Liverpool far better due to his work off the ball.

I think he should be offloaded along with Lovren, Keita and Curtis Jones. If we are to improve the squad then we we need to raise funds.

One of our recent free transfers (Milner) didn't turn out so bad did he.

FFS stop this shіt already, you're a fuсking joke.

We didn't sign Werner, get over it. We have some talented youngsters in the academy, or do you think academy players (TAA was an academy player) are shіtе also.

Cheap players can also prove a shrewd investment, Robertson for instance was only £8m.

Get your fuсking head out of your агse and support the club as a whole and stop fuсking hating on FSG.

I support the Klopp and the players but will not support FSG until they invest in the squad like they promised in an interview last June! In addition, I hqve no issues with academy players. TAA is outstanding. I just don't think Wilson, Woodburn, Brewster, Van Den Berg and Jones are anything special. All look very mediocre in my eyes and all can be upgraded with top class talent available elsewhere
