Reading the comments on this thread, I can't see anyone calling him an idiot for protesting. But protesting in a large group and not observing the distancing rules is idiotic and puts lives at risk.Looking at the photos on the news, it is obvious that at least some protesters are not distancing.
If you think that's acceptable, I'm very disappointed.
He said something about Mings standing shoulder to shoulder with 4,000 other idiots. Do the Ming's images demonstrate that? Obviously 4000 refers to the protesters. If not then who else?
Which photos are you looking at? I'm not saying its OK. I've seen that some protests are breaking these rules but most are not. From Australia, to Holland and even here in the UK cities. Majority are peaceful and observing the rules as much as possible. All these people can't be idiots.
We're splitting hairs here, but I think it's unlikely that these protests are going to be socially distanced, given the numbers of people involved. I suspect shoulder to shoulder is the reality.

Black lives matter is a money spinner and a way for the attention seeking pseudo liberals. They know full well that my demographic (although I'm African as opposed to Afro Carribean or AA), are very prone to reactionary behaviour which often lacks composure and finesse.
A wrong was done and racism is there in the system no doubt, but they approach to justice, needs to be tailored to the demographic, which in this case is to whip them into a frenzy unfortunately.
In my Uncle Tom opinion of course.
I may also disagree with the tactics and the stereotyping against others, but the movement is important to highlight differences in equality and fairness

Sadly, but predictably, protesters behaving like idiots. If lives really do matter, they would follow the Covid guidelines.
Clearly they think some things are more important. Each to their own.

I understand why Mings said what he said about restarting football, and I understand why he joined this protest.
What he needs to do is work out himself why and how they are justifiable when put together like LIW has done here.
The simple answer is ... it's about choice.
The first post is about not being consulted, nothing more. The second is about making a personal decision.
If Mings had made an issue in the first that there was a safety issue, then it would be much more difficult to justify.
But you can then justify it because the GF anti-racism protest is something worth dying for, it is about your principles.
I have ZERO issue with Mings on any of this. Connecting these two aspects and claiming Mings is being hypocritical is actually a non-sequitur - through logic, you cannot get to the conclusion of hypocrisy by connecting these two specific stories

He's complaining that footballers weren't consulted on resumption of their work.
I suppose nurses and doctors were consulted?
Care home workers?
Shop assistants?
Delivery people?
Overpaid prima donnas like him need a reality check.

Any player that wasn't consulted should shoot of at their clubs, the Leagues talk to their clubs and not them!..
If the messages aren't passed on then its the fault of the clubs!..
Players should just shut their puppy pissing and get back to work like most other workers want to!..

yup
Amusing that the police have made no effort to disperse crowds of thousands of protesters today but want football matches moved to neutral grounds in case a few fans turn up.
There are a good number of "socially distanced" protests going on around the country. I've no problem at all with those.
On the other hand, aerial photos I've seen from London and Manchester clearly show thousands (or tens of thousands in the case of London) shoulder-to-shoulder happily spreading the virus around fellow protesters.
If there was any doubt in any of the statements I've made, my argument wasn't "anti-demonstrations" it was "anti-covidiots".
We can all more than likely look forward to a second spike of indeterminate size in those cities and a subsequent reversal back into lock-down again as anything that affects London tends to guide national policy.
LONDON
What an absolute SHEET HOLE
The cause there protesting for i back completely.
However some of them are absolute skumbags.
What happened to George Floyd was disgusting and things need to change.
Lets get it right though. The guy was a complete skumbag. Some people trying to portray him as a saint.
What happened was wrong and justice needs to be done and i am sure it will.
