He plays for Benfica, I don't know how much he'd cost.

Probably around 50m depends on the market after covid. I don’t think we’re after him tbh, unless pogba and matic lwave

If Matic and Pogba are staying i don't see us doing anything major in midfield this summer

Bellingham probably most likely but he's a kid so will eased in over time

The sort of player we’d be going for if Ole was to think about moving to the diamond or 4-1-2-3.

Just sits in front of the back four and basically does nothing but breaks play up and gives the ball.

Florentino rarely gets a place on the bench for Benfica let alone plays for them.

To me this seems a bit like what happened with Gedson Fernandes in January. He'd fallen out of favour at Benfica and his agent was touting him around Europe, especially to the Premier League and United.

Yes played few matches for Benfica this season - only 10 appearances due to injuries but mostly due to the inclusion of Julian Weigl who came from B. Dortmund in the Jan window.

Portuguese dubbed him 'the Octopus' for his ability to cover the ground and win the ball in midfield, AC Milan, Leverkusen and Real Betis plus locally Leeds are trying to reel him in...

He has a contract until 2024 but Benfica are willing to loan or sell him permanently.

TBH, i still cannot believe weigl ended up at benfica

from what I have heard Luis is available because he is now deemed as surplus at benfica. I have not seen the lad play but it sounds like benfica have found a fr superior player in weigl and are looking for a chump to offload luis to.

I quite like him tbh, TRS.

Very much one for the future though. From what I’ve seen, he’s got the brain and the tools for the role he’s been playing, but can be a bit rash at times. Goes to ground a bit too often.

Probably a few years away from where we’d want him to be if he was to be challenging for a starting berth. I don’t see it, tbh.

Might be staying in Portugal for a while I think.

If we look for anyone in benfica, then it should be Ruben Dias

Averages about 8 combined tackles and interceptions per 90 which is amazing

I'd like a more capable passer.

Amadou Diawara would be my choice to sit in front of the back four.

He's still fairly young but he's got a good amount of experience and played and put in some very good performances at the highest level on the biggest stages and looked totally at ease.

He's more rounded and I think he's in a different class compared to quite a few other holding midfielders.
