Why is it so popular in the UK? Its really not popular here in Ireland although Brendan O'Carroll who is Mrs Brown is a funny guy.
I think it appeals to ex pats more than anything. I remember arriving into lime St in Liverpool for a game and when I walked out of the train station there was a giant banner of Mrs brown advertising a live show, I couldn't get my head around how it was so popular.

I really don't understand why Mrs Brown's Boys is so popular though. I think it's terrible but I wouldn't want it banned even though the one 'joke' within it is pretty lame.

Whilst I don't want Mrs Brown's Boys banned the irony is that if it were cancelled that would produce from me the biggest laugh associated with the show.
Don't know whether anyone here's seen the movie of it, but it has one scene in it that I still can't believe got past the censors. If you haven't seen it, imagine Brendan O'Carroll not only playing Mrs. Brown but temporarily playing an Asian martial arts teacher. Then, unless you've got a really wild imagination, it's probably worse than that...
I with those who don't really want to see it banned, but I'm also reassured that so many just think it's trash television.
So many people seemed to like it I was beginning to think I was the only one who was not getting the joke.
My parents watch Mrs. Brown religiously. I’ve never seen the fascination myself. It has its moments but not great overall.
Mrs Brown’s Boys has to be the biggest pile of shiiit ever subjected to television viewers. It should be removed on that basis alone.
