The cases abroad were due to the leagues making the decision and not the clubs under their own rules.

I expect Hearts will be recompensed as will Partick and Stranraer. It will take a while and potentially Hearts could be nearing a return to the top flight if not already back up.

I'm not sure how crowds at Partick or Stranraer look but I suspect Hearts will still get a decent home crowd for most games regardless of whether it is top tier or Championship so the weekly revenue should be steady

Let’s see
Just because more voted doesn’t make it legal in business law I think will be Hearts argument
Along the lines of restraint of trade
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Restraint of trade?

behave man.

They traded under the same conditions as everyone else. No restrictions whatsoever.

And if a member of a "club" agrees to the rules which allow them to benefit or suffer under those rules then yes; it's legal.

Hearts played through the season like they just couldn't be bothered in their own belief that they would sort it out when needed to.

There's graveyards all over the country with people inside whose last thoughts were along the lines of "I meant to get round to that".

Well fwck them. Now they know how that chicken in Asda's felt just before it was slaughtered in the belief that at least it would be paid for

If memory serves, the last time Hearts went down their crowds went up.

Fans like to see their team win, although of course they had a couple of bigger teams in the league last time they were down there.

Hibs and Partick?

They replaced one incompetent manager with another incompetent manager. It didn't work out and any team with only 4 league wins deserves to get relegated. Thistle have more if a case tbh.....two points off the team above with a game in hand.

As I said on the other thread.....welcome to The Terrors .....in with the big boys. A very welcome addition to the league. Hope you give Slippy a few bloody noses during the season

Has there been any comment at all from teams in play-off positions? I imagine the likes of Dundee and ICT are a bit miffed they don't have any hope of going up this season, but are they just taking it for what it is?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I was very surprised they accepted it. Falkirk for instance must have invested heavily in trying to get promoted and they've just released nine players I think
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Going by the numbers Falkirk should have had the biggest reason to complain. 1 point behind with a +20 better goal difference than Raith Rovers and the best form in the league.

Then again, imagine they had entertained the possibility of not going up, whereas I wouldn't be surprised if Hearts didn't learn from last time and didn't have any plans for relegation.

Has any team ever gained promotion through the play offs?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hamilton v Hibs, Livingston v Partick and Dundee United v Partick when play offs where used first time around.

Looking forward to the respective legal arguments
T SPFL lawyer will be good to explain why relegation was a must just not for Brechin

Probably something to do with the SFA running the other leagues and not the SPFL.

'running' ?

I saw someone write about a boys club they paid £900 to the SFA for refs & registration fees for 2H of season and only got one game played before everything shut down. Now not one communication from them about plans, outlook, funds, refunds etc. A lot of money to a wee local club. Some of them would be better beneficiaries of the benefactor money?

posted on 15/6/20

I didn’t say they were good at it, or doing it properly, only pointing out that the SPFL aren’t in charge of any other league.

Our club have said to stop the smaller monthly payments as there are no refs or league fees right now (we do quarterly bigger payments to cover the main registration and ongoing club costs) but we have agreed to keep paying them as the money can all get put towards getting good winter training and sub gear when it is needed.

It is interesting that all Dundee Utd fans will be thinking about all season is us relegating them at Dens again, in the play off final. It would be too much for them to take.

That reminds me CS or anyone. Master silver has a ton of club NB gear he neither needs nor wants. Some of it maybe unique to playing staff? They hand out warm up jackets, jumpers, walkout jackets, rain jackets, trackies, match polos and much more like confetti, sometimes only for a few matches then they hand out more - a real waste. We have a cupboard full of puffer jackets - think they retail ~£100? All his stuff that got worn regular got maintained by the club. Anything left has only had a few outings. No idea what all sizes he's laid aside? Normally take every year to charity shop - especially the still bagged, unworn stuff.

Anyway, charity closed. If anyone is interested give me a shout. I know how crazy the shop charges for all that stuff. Some teen might like it? Fook it, the size of him, some Da's anaw!
