Sancho would be looking to play every game possible. I don’t think a player as good as Bailey would want to play second fiddle to him.

And Greenwood has scored goals coming in off the right wing so not sure what the issue would be there.

Even if he played 40 games a season, he’s always going to want to play the big games. I doubt Bailey would join us and be happy with playing the games that Sancho doesn’t.

theres a reason sancho is valued at about 80 million quid more, and thats because he is a better player.

I agree Sancho is the better player

But I doubt Bailey would want to join a side to be a squad player. He could go and play for lots of sides and be their first choice.

He’s started 12 games. He’s been benched by that Diaby kid that they signed from PSG.

yeah because lingard and perriera have shown that they are decent enough to step in and provide those much needed goals and assists

i wonder if fergie thought the same when he had Nani, Giggs, Ronaldo all vying for 2 spots... or cole, yorke, sheringham and Ole vying for 2.

I’m talking about James, Greenwood, Mata and Chong, the players that actually play on the right for us now. We need a bonafide first team quality player to play on right wing, not Leon Bailly.

mata isnt a right winger, chong has shown absolutely nothing, James had a decent start but has struggled massively after a decent start and Greenwood will end up through the middle.

i would have none of those above bailey ( apart from greenwood but thats not his best position).

noone is saying sancho wouldnt be a better option, but if we cant get him for another season id rather bailey come in until then than willian who is the wrong side of 30 and would ask for a stupid wage.

then we have a top wide player on the right and a decent one to call upon when need be

We don’t need another squad player. We’re in desperate need of a right winger but if we don’t get who we want I don’t want us signing someone like Willian.

But these are the players in the squad that play on that side. We don’t need more squad players, is my point, and that’s what Bailey would be as he’s not a top player. Plus he’s been playing mainly on the left anyway.

We don’t need either of those players. And it we cannot get Sancho for another year we’ll be better served giving more game to Greenwood on the right.

We’d probably sign Grealish as well and look at changing shape a lot of the time as well as shifting him out there on occasion, I reckon.

Hasn’t he got 2 years on his contract? If they wait until next year it could really affect the price they get for him. I reckon £100m would do it for them, think they paid £8m or something

The reason I think we’ll get him is because no one else can either afford or willing be willing to cough up.

Really thought Chelsea would be in for him but with Ziyech and Werner in the bag I don’t see it.

There will probably be some easily attainable add ons to spread the cost.
