£102.5m is a ridiculous amount of money for his transfer fee, agent fee and wages (especially when his agent has just pocketed £12m from this deal alone).

Did somebody say prices were dropping this summer?

Jesus Christ, If that's true, No wonder Liverpool pulled out of the race to sign him.

No too sure there are many clubs about at the moment in the current situation that would take a punt at that price.

I know clubs would offer different wages over a different length of time, but still, can't imagine many would compete with that.

£45m for a striker of his caliber is relatively cheap.
His wages over 5 years costs another £45m, equivalent to £173k per week. Not sure where you got the £12m regarding his agent fee though.

He’s averaged almost a goal/assist per game in the Bundesliga over the last four seasons.

He’s a 24 year-old world class player. They tend to cost a lot of money. Particularly ones who score for fun.

Wouldn't say he is world class personally and I was more referring to the amount of money considering prices were meant to be dropping.

Yeah, I think some clubs will be much better placed than others to spend.

We might see transfer fees suppressed a little, but fees and wages are paid as contracts are amortised over four, five, six seasons now, and clubs that still have decent liquidity will be thinking long term.

When did we start adding the contract cost to the transfer fees

Its a silly thing to do

For start you aren't guaranteed to pay the contract as it is signed initially, because

1. if he does well the wages will go up
2. if he gets sold early you dont pay the full contract
