Another secret friendly.

posted on 8/8/20

And from the reading two trialist played. One in the first half and one in the second who scored two goals. Pasty may have his wish of another striker joining us on Monday.

Two games two wins on the sheet. Ealy days but although Evatt isn't satisfied it looks as if the lads are heading in the right direction, 10 goals and two clean sheets is going to do their confidence a lot of good.

I just hope that they can keep that up when it really matters and when we meet better opposition.

Looks like evatt is trying to get 2 players in for each position so we need a striker and left wing back. Maybe the 2 trialists who played today. Seems to be a relaxation of the number of pros Bolton can sign. Totally unclear on how big a squad we can carry into next season.

The trialist who scored two goals was Bright Amoateng.

Crazy, I've never heard of him but two goals is promising.

Evatt seems to know what he is doing and not going overboard with praise for the squad at the moment. He seems to be a hard task manager, which much preferable to the table tennis manager. Recreation is OK when you have come off the pitch after winning a hard game. During training sessions it won't be allowed under Evatt.

The boss's shopping isn't complete yet he said “I still think we’re two or three light,”
Has somebody hacked into Tobias's special computer or is the abacus faulty. Then again we could become the loan sharks of the division and make a few quid.

Yes he's looking at two more up front and possibly a. left wingback. just what Benny was looking for with two up front instead of another one.

I like the fact that he wants some of the youngsters to go out on loan but to train at Lostock with the first team squad. It keeps the lads together and gives the youngstera games with other clubs which hopefully will be a good solution for all.

Guess the location a two part question
a - Where in the midlands would you go for a training camp.
b - Which Midlands team will be the lucky ones to host a friendly.

posted on 11/8/20

I have no idea on either A or B. I can't imagine that the friendly will be against a Championship or Premiership team so I will go for either another league two game or possibly a non league team. I feel that another lower level team will be on the cards before he steps things up a level. He knows the team are not up to the standard that he requires so to pitch them against superior oposition at this time may be a mistake. He will be looking for another decent win.

On the training camp, doesn't the Football league have facilities in the midlands? Perhaps it will be there. I'm feeling lazy today after a night of intense storms and thundering and lightening directly overhead for hours on end. Probably the worst storm that I have seen in the UK. The lawn at the back of the lodge was like a fishing lake this morning and the roads have several inches of standing water.

A 6-0 win marred by a bad knee injury to Dennis Politic. I wonder how many weeks he will be sidelined for and who will be the next to join him in the sickbay?

Apparently it was a slip and not a bad tackle from one of their players. However, the result is the same, we are going to miss a good young players for quite some time unless the initial assessment of the injury was wrong.

Just hoping it’s not as bad as it seems, the lad deserves a lot more luck than that,
Another good win 6, but was Dennis doing more to impress, because of the younger players going out on loan.

He's off to the Beaumont when the swelling has gone down enough so his knee fits in the scanner.
Anybody's guess so far as to how bad it is

posted on 11/8/20

Bad injuries have contributed to the position we are in now. Holden, chungy in a pre season match the season we were relegated, muamba, mark Davies lost count of his longterm injuries. Last season new side Joe bunney injured in a crash before he had played a game, injuries to Hobbs, bridcutt, Crawford which stopped any chance of staying up. Good luck to politic, at least he's young and time on his side. Probably not in the first 11 but quality of the bench, just irreplaceable. Have to get on with it and hope no further bad injuries. They always seem to be long term though.

EFL won their appeal and relegated Macc

posted on 12/8/20

I thought that they should be relegated. The rules are the same for every team.

So the news on Pollitic has cast a dark shadow of our pre-season. However, we do have enough players to carry on and hopefully do well until he is back to full fitness. I just hope that he isn't sidelined for too long for both his sake and the clubs.

No new expected signings as yet and the trialist who scored two goals has not been mentioned since, unless I have missed something. With Pollitic out for maybe some time, I expect a new arrival sometime next week if the scan reveals that it's a bad injury to the lad.

There could be more clubs kicked out of the leagues before the season starts the EFL do like to keep busy if they sense you haven't got enough money to fulfil the season they'll be asking for evidence you can.

It's so quiet anybody would think there's another secret signing or friendly due.

Something needs to happen. it's quite boreing waiting for some news, any news as long as its good news.

Going on a trip to County durham today, staying overnight and returning to the lodge late tomorrow afternoon so i will probably not be in a position to post agin until then. Maybe there will be some news when I get back.

With these cup dates being out and no news of fans for home and away games perhaps since we have enough registered players for two teams we could use the cups to keep a B team fresh in case they are needed in the league which must be our priority this season.
