See to be fair, he's not the worst option as a 3rd choice.
Problem Rangers have is they've no clue if their 1st choice will be there and if he is, whether he can manage to play for more than 6 months for the first time in 3 years.
Defoe is also a baw hair away from a care home so remains to be seen how he'll hold up.
Defoe I think will be fine as secondary option as long as he isn't forced into long periods of being the main guy with no backup. As a third option Dykes is maybe not the worst but I'm still not sold on him. I'm not even convinced Rangers will play in a way that really suits his abilities

We have no cover if any of the main strikers get injured or suspended , gives us another option so it’s a big improvement , we went through last season with two strikers

In all the games I saw him in he never once stood out.
