Absolutely they are, City win games in style and with great football, they do it without the need to dive and cheat, and without the help of the referees and VAR.

There has also been a distinct anti City and pro Pool agenda across the media, which has influenced a lot of decision making.

The introduction of VAR was the final piece of the Pool jigsaw, it has given them 13 men every week instead of the customary 12.

I remember a game early this season when Liverpool were 1-2 up at Southampton and Ings missed an absolute sitter in the dying moments. At that point I thought their name was on it and so its proved. The amount of easy chances teams have missed against them has been criminal.

We are as guilty as anybody Son and Lo Celso at the new WHL!!

City are certainly a much better team to watch but theres no prizes for that.

Yep. That and this has been a season long farewell to Silva too. Don’t think some off field issues (like with Bernardo) helped either.

We did it for two seasons though, three would have been a very big stretch. I don’t think Liverpool have been 20 points better, double digits though.

Fk me this is actually embarrassing. Talk about the entertainment value of the football all you want but don't tell me they are "better". We were the most entertaining team for about 2 seasons and didn't even get top 4 and didn't see any rival fans claiming we were the best then. They have lost as many games this season as we have in the last 3. What we've done so far this season is actually unprecedented and still there are those who can't give any credit.

Weirdly it's the city fans happy to admit we are better this season. Almost like they don't need to talk other teams down because theirs is actually good.

You remember ings missing a sitter but i bet if you go back watch the highlights of that game i bet you we miss more sitters in the same game. Yeah he missed a gd chance to snatch a point but we should have been out of sight as was the case in the majority of our close games always had the better and majority of clear chances.

Yes there’s definitely not been the same atmosphere around the club as the past two years, be hard not to be really! Sterling another one, totally went off the boil after all that Gomez business. Could even end up losing a few big names over the summer which would be a huge gain for back to back Liverpool titles.

A bit of it will be where we came from too. I do get it, for some people football support is about being better than others and oneupmanship and sites like this can heighten that. I’d rather more just focus on enjoying what I’m watching (try a season under Pearce and you’ll know why I say that!) and I don’t begrudge anyone else success, I just think good for them and enjoy it, is prefer it if more people and fanbases got to experience it, not less.

I used to go to both City and United games a lot. City fans used to sing “always look on the bright side of life” whenever we were a few down. United fans used to sing that exact same song to the opposition when they were winning by a few. That was the difference in outlook that I still think exists to some extent today.

Okay. I have. Many times. Where do we go from here?

When they actually turn up and play their best stuff, they are by far the best team in the country.

They aren't consistent enough though, unlike Liverpool. Liverpool are best team overall this season. 20 points clear having dropped a handful all year.

I don’t think it’s in any way controversial to say City’s best is better than our best. But, this season at least, their worst performances have cost them points.

Does having higher highs but lower lows make you a better team? Not sure it does tbh, surely how a team responds to difficult situations also counts. But I am sure I won’t care when we do win the title.

It’ll be interesting to see what our consistency is like next season. City’s level was ridiculous for 2 seasons and now ours has been for 2 seasons - tough ask to do it for a 3rd.

When United won there early titles it was Newcastle who were the team to watch. Man City are this seasons Newcastle.

Our performance level at our best in the previous seasons was better than anyone before or since was more the point, not just against the dross.That’s borne out by the stats too if people are more inclined in that direction rather than the aesthetics.

It’s each to their own though, some will enjoy a particular type of football more than the other and some will enjoy their team winning more than anything too. All that really matters is you’re rightfully very happy at what you are watching and your team is going to have a deserved title at the end of the season.
