I expect football fans will be treated differently. Scotland can see people go to a six nations game and be allowed a beer but have the same people treated like criminals the next day at a different sport. I see no reason that we will be treated as anything other than a problem they would rather avoid

Pubs here in Sevenoaks are opening on July 4th (we have a table booked already) so I think the Government, etc will see how that pans out.

I have to say - the social spacing/distancing is nigh-on all over down here - it really is being paid lip service to now.

I think they will look at 30-40% capacity in stadiums for starters and review thereafter to see if there were any 'spikes'.

Looking at the recent protests in London - there have been no spikes despite the proximity to each other; if anything the numbers have actually reduced in London.

We need to get UK PLC back to BAU sharpish though - GDP status is now horrendous.

I agree. Just been looking at the stats and the lockdown has worked - ish.

England is now 6% above normal death rate for this time of year (based on a 5 year average). Scotland is 3%.

By August I suspect things will be closer to normal. This blended school return I do not expect to last more than a few weeks.

It has been slower than I expected but we need to be wary of local outbreaks and be prepared for local lockdowns

I can't wait to get back to Celtic Park and watch us win 10 IAR

Those with elder relatives and at risk may need to maintain distancing for some time longer unfortunately. I do not expect my uncle to return to games immediately with me as he lives in a care home so they will be on strict regulations

Not really - not quite sure where you are getting your data from regarding that? Yesterday's figures were very encouraging.

they're decreasing very very slowly

still over 1000 new cases a day

Stats are stats are stats

The virus is in society. We are testing more and more people all the time which will of course capture more people.

Despite the significant hike in both numbers and amount of tests increasing so rapidly and markedly; the results indicate that despite this, incidences of infection, hospitalisation, use of ICU and inevitably deaths continue to fall.

We are also able to locate breakouts and hotspots which we can clamp down upon such as that in North Wales.

It's not over but we are well on the road.

My concern is more with the number of deaths.

It isn't going anywhere, anytime soon and we will have to live with it until such time as there is a vaccine.

Those in the 'at risk' category will, unfortunately, have to remain vigilant but the rest of us have to get back to BAU.

Scotland has done as well as can be expected in the situation but we're now moving out at a snails pace and i know people are scared but ultimately it's a neccesary risk to begin to let pubs/restaurants and shops open within the next 2 weeks.

Phase 3 should be everything is allowed to open except mass gatherings.

Mass gatherings should be permitted from middle of August.

Given Spain etc. will be mobbed with Brits next month, it makes no sense to keep us locked up in our own country when we can get a flight and go tonto in anothers.
