It depends if they all stay back though. The five at the back is really just a three if the full backs are pressed up.

My team isn't that different to Dunc's set up in some ways as Matic, in my team, is essentially one of the CBs (although in a slightly more advanced position).

I'd have Ighalo tonight though as I think it's important to have a presence in the box.

I would put Dan James on the bench, Because he'll do well against tired defences, I hope Greenwood starts as well, But for me, Pogba and Bruno have to start tonight, Don't start one or the other etc.

I expect us to win but I still think it’s early days in regards to the return back from lockdown to really know what condition the teams are in. Irrelevant of that however I would hope to see Ole set us out to attack from the start and not go with 2 defence minded CMs.

A formation is just a base shape. It really depends on what you choose to do with it and how brave you're willing to be. Negative would be playing slow cowardly football and not committing good numbers forward, something we don't do that often.

Also given our full-backs aren't very good in attack and given they don't often take up the positions they should when we have the ball, even when they're playing as wing-backs, we're better playing with a back four and width in attack, even more so now that we have both Bruno and Pogba available because they're our main source of creativity and need to be in more advanced positions when we have the ball.

Looking forward to it, fully expect to see Pogba and Bruno starting together for the first time, unless fitness is an issue.

wouldnt say that, i think AWB has come on since the start of the season attacking wise and williams isnt that bad either.

the problem with playing wide players at the minute is we dont have any that are actually that good in regards to playing on the right unless you count Greenwood.

i expect Sheff Utd to be tight and not give away too many clear cut chances, so i want our most natural finisher on the end of things, not providing them.

a back 3 and wingbacks means we can afford to play Mctom, pogba and fernandes in midfield and not have to worry about really needing a defensive midfielder to protect the back line.

3 cbs should be plenty to occupy what will be likely 1 forward in billy sharpe, let the rest of the team push on.

I think it's a big night for the club rather than Ole

Football is a funny game. Who would have tipped the barcodes to hammer them. And who would have tipped Sheffield to be where they are.
The day results go as we all think they should, is the d'au bookies go bust.

We all know Sheff U will be a lot better than they were the other night. It will be a tough game and the Newcastle result won’t change that. We need to win though, so hopefully the workrate and desire from our players matches theirs, and if it does the quality of players should hopefully be enough to win it especially if we start Bruno and Pogba together.

Martial has to start for me, he is forming a good understanding with Bruno and has also formed a good bond with Rashers.

It will be weird watching a home game on the telly.

BTW the (lack of) crowd factor can't be ignored. Ask any ex United player and they all say that the vast Old Trafford support pushed them on in games where things weren't going straightforward to plan.

Home advantage is not the same in an empty stadium for every club.

I’d quite like to punish Martial after his showing at the weekend, tbh, which was pess poor. Kick him in the nuts or something. Or pour water instead of milk on his cornflakes.

AWB has shown improvement in moments but he's not the type of full-back who's constantly looking to threaten teams high or in behind, take players on and who will put multiple dangerous crosses into the box.

Williams has potential but we've not really seen him attack yet like he's done in the youth sides. He'd be more useful than Shaw however in the upcoming run of games.

Greenwood doesn't always have to stay wide though. He should be getting in the box as much as he can but when he is out wide and when Rashford is out on the left, it opens up more space for Pogba and Bruno and it gives the full-backs an option to combine with when they do get forward. Playing too narrow just makes us easier to defend against.

We shouldn't really worry too much about the other team with the players we have. That is negative thinking. We'll dominate possession in most of our games now. What we need is good width, good movement, to move the ball and switch it quickly and to get plenty of men forward. We're playing with three midfielders and they should all be contributing defensively anyway.

It was the first game back after 3 months, we were never gonna get all players firing from the off.

Martial still got into a position to get a couple of shots off against the Jose mega bus though. He'll come good.
