Why has Boris not opened the pubs now - French ones been open for ages?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Or let fans in to live football?

Genuine question for my fellow JA academics. don't think it's been addressed by either Gov yet, hut how will barbers/hairdressers operate without the use of hair dryers?

Is everyone now gonna have to get a dry cut and that's it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Blow dry.

There are other ways.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Doesn't that cause the same issues though, of spreading the virus exponentially around the salon/hairdressers?

had to laugh at Johnson today at PMQs when Starmer said that we'd missed 33k people on the track and trace system and Johnson told him to that his data was misleading

'Its from your governments slides' responded Starmer

whats our bet again ginger, Johnson gone by the summer or was it by the end of the year?

Boris was hosed on today.

Twice Starmer had him on toast.. with the data that Ghod mentioned, and when Starmer called him out on last week's lies.

Johnson is just an awful politician and worse leader

You see; this is the issue.

Johnson is an excellent leader. He gets people inside and gets things moving.

What he lacks is the detail and I’d even go so far as to say the ability to concentrate on one thing to see it through. Again detail.

See come next summer when hopefully we are through this; the Conservative party will maul the Labour Party yet again. As they have done for many years.

BTW on the subject of haircuts ... Watching the latest briefing at lunchtime, my missus made the very valid point that wee Nicola has clearly been getting her hair done professionally throughout lockdown, because her barnet hasn’t changed one jot. BoJo on the other hand ... looking more like Worzel by the day.

A good leader doesn't dither on important decisions or go on holiday and ignore COBRA meetings during the greatest crisis this country has seen in decades.

Only if they have a complete overhaul of the leadership and cabinet.. the masses on the backbenches are reportedly raging with how the crisis has been mishandled.

Boris won't survive this.

Aye, clearly a far longer dishevelled mess than normal.

To be fair to Nicola, she could well just be sticking a stormtrooper helmet on her napper and cutting round the edges. Looks about right.

Tend to agree. Monumental wishful thinking to suggest BoJo won’t survive the next 12 months. Time will tell obviously.

He doesn’t really have to do much to show Johnson up, he just shoots him with his own bullets.

The difference between the approach of Scotland Vs the UK government is a consequence of each tackling what they perceived as the bigger risk.
There are two pending disasters on the horizon. (1) epidemic resulting in major loss of life. (2) Recession leading to shrinking economy with risk of job losses .

While the SNP have looked to address the risk to life, Westminster has instead moved to limit the risk to the economy.
Standard grade/Olevel Geography tells us pandemics occur where overcrowding occurs and ability to isolate is small. Segregate the affected is your best chance of beating it. This is what we did and it may end before the risk has dropped.
On the flip side, the shutdown has hard hit the economy and prolonged inactivity will risk longer lasting effects. A quick response could make a recovery possible and achievable.

The UK government appears to be seeking to address the financial risk ahead of the risk to life.

It's not clear what coure is the correct one but the SNPs approach certainly appears to be the safest choice. If England experience a second spike, or if it's stats are much higher deaths per 100k Labour will use it in the next campaign.

It’s like the meme where you see an astronaut standing on the moon looking at planet Earth being destroyed by a massive meteor strike, and in the speech bubble the astronaut says, “Oh fook, the economy!”

What?

It’s a balance. Protecting lives in this manner costs as many if not more lives in the longer term.

It just ain’t that simple. It’s not one or the other.

I plan on giving my barber a miss for a few months, imagine how rusty they must be after only doing secret work on mates during the lockdown

Couple of months
