Dan James - squad player at best
Greenwood is 18 and can wait for his chance to be an automatic starter. He can be part of the rotation.
I agree, We've not had a right winger since Nani, Bring him in.

We will hopefully play a ton of games... James provides cover for both wings, Greenwood would get plenty of games to develop across the 3 front positions
The best teams all tend to have 2 XIs that look scary. Sancho would move us a long way towards that

Steady on old chap, we need to get one XI that scares people - people other than United fans I mean - first.
And do most teams really have that strong a second XI? I think City have skewed people's thinking a bit - and they still struggle to field a good first choice back 4 - since a strong first 14 + luck with injuries can get you most of the way.
Look at liverpool - their second choice front 3 is minamino, shaqiri, and origi; 2nd choice LB is milner; and 2nd choice RB is (i think) gomez. But those 5 almost never get injured, so they get away with it.
Anyway, sancho, yes please, criminal that we have simply "made do" with poor solutions for the right for a decade now, and even though dortmund appear to be playing slightly silly b()ggers with the price, i'm sure ed can negotiate them up, given time.

I think of City, Mourihno's original Chelsea and United around 08. Quality depth is crucial to building consistency over more than a couple of months/ a season. United are starting to build depth in key positions. Something they haven't had for a while.
Liverpool beat barca 4-0 last year with 2 of their front 3 suspended.
ironic that you want Greenwood to wait for his time because you want to buy a play who was too impatient to wait and is the player he is because he went to a time where he could get games.

I'm hoping that we do well in all the competitions we're in and that they'll get plenty of game time
James would be the biggest loser I suppose if we were to sign Sancho, as he'd go down the pecking order, but if we are going to be playing with three attackers we need options.

And YES do all we can to sign Sancho no matter the cost
I've not watched him enough to know if this is the right signing, but it would excite me.

I am also a big fan of us getting sancho. I know what you mean by irony, but when you think about it, it will actually help mason
Mason has already shown most that he is the next best attacker after martial and rashford. If sancho joins, mason will be the 4th best attacker competing for 3 first team position. That for me is very healthy imo for the18 yr old. He should get plenty of game time without ott pressure.
Could prob offer them Greenwood as a makeweight get a cheaper price?

abso-fekin-lutely not
LWF CF RWF
Rashford Martial Sancho
James Ighalo Greenwood
With Sancho, we'd start next season with this as our forward options. James can play both sides, as can Sancho and Greenwood can play all three.

Greenwood on loan might be a good option if they didn't already have someone lined up to replace him.

i am the same and I think most here are too. Looking at his record worst case scenario is that he is just decent. This always a factor for most new signing and I will ordinarily say no to players I have not seen enough of myself.
But with sancho it is not just the record, but it is a record in a top team
he is english so he will not suffer homesickness
he is still super young so he can adapt his game to the team in a way a more experienced player might not be able to.
and unlike previous signings he will be walking into a utd team which I believe has solid foundation.
Garner be a star (U13920)
Absolutely, there are a lot of reasons to think it could be a great signing.
Looking back at big money signings, it would be fascinating to see where he fits in with the likes of Rooney, Veron, Ferdinand, ADM etc.
As you say, concerns over homesickness can be removed for sure.
