I think the entire team were lacking match sharpness. The effect of not playing any friendlies.

I’m watching Brentford v West Brom and the commentators said both teams had played friendlies against Premiership teams before these games. Are we the only team who didn’t play one?

Hate to say it, but Brentford are looking better than West Brom and are currently winning 1-0 at half time!

West Brom look like a team that can’t buy a win.

He had a bad game, but wouldn’t read too much into it.

A good player but do feel he’s slightly overrated at this point.

Better footballer then Jansson but not convinced he’s a better defender at this point.

Well, that’s the first result gone the wrong way! We must win tomorrow. Please, lads, find the form you were on before the enforced break!

I think white just isn’t a great defender - he’s a very good footballer who plays in defence. That’s what bielsa favours... his defensive shortcomings are outweighed by what else he brings to the team. I really like... just think he’s been a bit of a soft touch. Hopefully he’ll beef up a bit and make better decisions and become a top player... just don’t think he’s the finished article yet.

I always felt Jansson was slightly over rated as defender. Brilliant tackler & in the air. But had to make too many last ditch tackles and was poor at sensing danger. Always felt he was more reactive as a defender than proactive. To clarify he’s a top Championship defender and will always be in the top handful but I can see why he didn’t get the move to a top flight side.

Milky, if we keep him for next season I hope you’re wrong, but if he isn’t with us I hope you’re right. And I have the same thoughts too

Indeed faith... he’s still very young, I’d like him here and hope he develops that aspect of his game. Jar kerosene ally I think he’s cost us a few goals ‘under the radar’ this season.

Agree on Jansson, I really liked him, but the fist pumping left people blind to the errors. Cost us more goals than Cooper last season, especially after Christmas.

To put it in context, would I be happy with a jansson white partnership - hell yeh.

Thing with defenders like Jansson the crowd roars when he makes an big lunge and wins the ball. Cos it’s great to see. And the passion and effort is brilliant. But the best defenders don’t have to go to ground ever.

Ben White has shown a lot of ability at defending this season. Just think sometimes he’s a bit naive. Against Paterson the experience showed.

Mitrovic? Who's he again?

One of the best things about today's result is the clean sheet. It was posted that Mitrovic would run through White and Meslier early doors. Well, he tried it on White and lucky for him, the ref didn't see it, but I hope he gets slammed by a retroactive disciplinary proceedings for dangerous conduct. As it was, Mitrovic didn't capitalise on his chances in the first half and was nigh on invisible in the second.
