Romero
AWB Bailly Maguire Williams
McT Fred
Mata Bruno James
Ighalo
Don’t want to rush Pogba or Rashford. Get Pogba on for Bruno around the hour mark if things are going well.
I think Lingard will play mate. OGS said as much the other day

Indeed.
I was on the stretford end in 1967 when Tony Dunne passed back to Stepney, he was already coming off his line the ball passed him and trickled over the line, massive cup upset that day, they had the Indian sign over us for quite a while after that
I hope we don't rest too many key players. One of Bruno or Pogba needs to play in midfield and I'd hope for one of Rashford or Martial in the team.
Teams who are struggling in the league can often find relief and renewed form in the cups so I wouldn't underestimate Norwich.
Rashford could do with a goal. He was poor against Spurs and better against Sheffield but was snatching at things in front of goal. Another game and maybe a goal might settle him down for the run-in.
I's be tempted to go**:
------------Romero
AWB--Bailly--Maguire--Williams
------McTominay-Pogba
Greenwood-Lingard-Rashford
-------------Ighalo
**On the understanding that Lingard starts today.
Yes one of Pogba and Bruno has to be starting every game.
Don’t expect this one to be a walkover
I'd definitely start Pogba today. Just get him as much game time as possible - he should be as fresh as anyone.
There's definitely an argument for starting Lingard, James and Ighalo as well. We can - and should - still be able to put out a very strong side while resting the likes of Bruno and Rashford.
I think Greenwood should play over Rashford in this game.

agreed, his long-term future is as a striker, but there's no doubt he's looked better this season on the right. but he'll only grow into the striker role with some minutes there, so i have no problem with him playing up top today.

He's certainly a rough diamond as of right now. His finishing ability is top notch for a young lad. A game like this will be beneficial to him more so than for someone like Rashford. I'd still keep Rashford on the bench though. But i want to see what opportunities Greenwood would make out of this game.
Think we will start with another strong side today
Norwich should be (on paper) as easy game. No home support
____________
It will be even worse behind closed doors
Norwich should be (on paper) as easy game. No home support, hugely out of form and may even be resting loads of players with an eye on a relegation scrap.
____________
I think Norwich actually rested some players last time out with an eye on this game? Could be wrong.
This is only our third game in three months. We should be using it to build the match fitness of the players who we need to get top four.
Resting players with few games left is somewhat pointless.
