I think Ronnie wasn’t up for a long drawn out safety battle. He knows Selby has the edge so why delay the inevitable?
You could argue it was brilliant tactics from Ronnie. Got into Mark’s head and didn’t let him play his natural game

Ronnie still is the Xfactor in snooker. His interview calling the kids crap was the main debate the morning after of talkSPORT.
Yes, they usually talk bollox on it but when was the last time snooker was the main talking point on a mainstream outlet?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Snooker need to be focusing on Judd Trump and making him the people's champion and face of Snooker. He plays similar style to Ronnie, entertaining, has unbelievable cue power. He's also down to earth, treats the game and his opponents with respect. Yes when he was younger he had a bit of an attitude but he's improved a lot. He also loves the game and rarely moans.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He has zero charisma.
Ronnie is disrespectul, immature, selfish etc at times but he is entertaining. Trump isn't.
Look at Ronnie's route to the final... Tepchia, Ding, Williams, Selby.. If he wins this he'll deserve it... & Arsenal I like Judd...

Im going to hazard a guess that Trump had a far different upbringing to Ronnie....
End of the day though Ronnie was outrageous in those last 3 frames. To play like that with huge pressure on was unbelievable and sensational.

yup. and when someone like selby slows the game down against ronnie, and frustrates him, everyone's quick to say how smart that is.
i can see the argument about ronnie, but i'd have thought his opponent should be the last to complain. i thought it was embarrassing at times, but snooker isn't pool, hitting the cue ball as hard as you can isn't a viable tactic at the top level, so selby should have been delighted to see it, not whining about it afterwards.

Got to be honest, I absolutely loved that! Ronnie is so relatable, he's just like most of us! Yeah I know someone's gonna say that as a top level professional he should be able to keep his emotions in check, but balls to that, I love seeing someone get a strop on and throw a frame or two, only to regain his head and do that! Sensational!!!

As someone with next to no interest in snooker, Ronnie's rant the other day is the only reason I even know the tournament is on, and turned on today.
Don't get why his opponent was upset with a lack if respect? Surely if he's playing petulatently it makes it easier for him to win. If you get beat whilst he's having a sulk it just shows how much better he is.
