True Don, But Ronnie has beaten Dott, Carter twice, Hawkins, & John Higgins, soon to add Wilson to that.. Ronnie has had a very tough passage this year, & he's in his mid 40's
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I was thinking about this too, with the exception of Higgins, you would expect Ronnie win those match ups comfortably.

I know he is my favourite player but I think Higgins would have won the title this year if he got past Maflin. That match was probably the highest quality match of the tournament, John played very well and Maflin was exceptional. Its a shame Maflin had that rotten session against McGill.

Fack me, I’ve been out all day thinking “great I can relax this evening in front of the snooker”

17-8?!

Has Ronnie turned up or has Kyren bottled it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wilson took the first frame well, had a chance to make a clearance in the next fron 60 odd behind, he missed a relatively easy ball to middle, had another chance in the next which he didn't tale then, the next 5 frames after that though Ronnie was played pretty well and Kyren just couldn't take any half chances he had and made too many mistakes.

I can barely remember much about Ronnie's finals, because they haven't really been that close, with Ronnie dominating them, and this one is no different. Wilson will be disappointed with how he has played. Sure, Ronnie might beat you, but at least make him beat you - obviously there is the pressure of playing Ronnie in the final, but that just comes with the territory.

Final opponents you can’t choose who you play,
In 2001 he beat Higgins in the final, enough said. However, he also smashed Ebdon the quarters

I’m 2004, he Dott, but also smashed 2004 Hendry
17-4 and 2004 Hendry and had probably the toughest 1st Round opponent in Maguire

In 2008, he beat Carter, also in the semis beat a well last it Hendry and Williams in round 2

In 2012, he beat Carter again in the final who actually beat Judd and Maguire, not sure why people think that was an easy final, but he also beat 3 World Champs (Enron, Williams and Robertson) in the first 3 matches.

In 2013, he beat Hawkins, but also smashed Judd in the semis and Bingham in the quarters.

So not sure what the point is about him having relatively easy finals as he has beaten tougher opponents in the journey to the finals.

Well said Just True. This year he's had a tough route too..

Has another player got a better head to head against Ronnie?

this could well be the shortest session in crucible history (if you don't count the walk ons, trophy ceremony etc)

Well said Arsenal... 👏👏

I know I'm a bit biased at times but I still admit when someone plays well and deserves the win

I hope Kryren wins one day... Only 8 months until Ronnie can try to join Hendry 😂😂

A shame the final was a let-down. Ronnie once again shows that on form he is still the one to beat. We only saw glimpses of real vintage Ronnie, but that was more than enough to win.

Wish it would have been closer though like an 18-14 scoreline.
