My opinion on De Gea is he's horribly inconsistent, makes far too many big errors to be one of the world's best but he also makes some of the best saves.

A basketcase goalie. I would take Alisson and Ederson over him, he's in the next bracket with Leno and Lloris for me.

Sorry i'm not a united fan that wets my knickers over him. He's had an easy ride because he's been the one capable of top class performances over the last few years when the rest of the team have been Europa standard.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Easy ride ? Do you remember his first season with us, He was getting slated on a regular basis, Teams used to put a lot of players on him when they had corners.

I'd agree with that. Alisson is the most reliable in the PL and won the golden gloves in three tournaments last season, and is leading the race to win it again this season despite missing about 10 games. Ederson is a bit too error prone for my liking but would probably still put him above DDG.

Bloody hell, De Gea is better than Ederson, The latter has made as many mistakes as the former this season, Most notably in the Manchester derby before lockdown.

He's still been lauded for the past few years despite making errors far more often that a top level keeper is allowed.

For me he's the third best keeper we've had in the Prem era, but not up there with Schmeichel and VDS. A fine shot stopper but (even at his best, before the errors crept in) a bit vulnerable at corners, reluctant to race off his line, not up there with the best at distribution, and not a commanding presence for the back four.

I think we should be thinking about the succession. Whether Heaton has all the attributes we need and can consistently perform on the unforgiving platform of playing for United is another question.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You mean Dean Henderson, I've said for the last year, He's more than good enough to play for us, I know it's different playing for Sheffield Utd every week, But he's doing it in the best league in the world.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ha! Yes, too early on a Monday morning to be opening my mouth. My only doubts about Henderson are whether he's up to 'modern keeper standard' with the ball at his feet, and whether he has the mentality to maintain concentration and nerves of steel when playing for United. The latter is impossible to know until he's tested at this level.

A top keeper for me is De Gea

David de Gea officially worst keeper in Prem after error in Spurs draw puts Man Utd No1 top of blunder league

Ederson less error prone.

I like Henderson, he's surely long term the solution at United but his positioning was terrible yesterday and cost Sheffield United their place in the cup so he still needs to brush up on a few aspects of his game.

Great shot stopper, or was, but doesnt suit the modern game. Utd will always struggle to play a high line with him in goal, especially with Maguire as the main centre back.

Bit if a problem for Utd really because he is on a very long and lucrative contract.

De Gea has been poor since 2018 World Cup. We have been conceding a lot more goals than expected for a while now.

The goal we conceded at Spurs expected goal rating for shot was 0.08. The Everton goal we conceded was a joke. Thats 4 points lost due to goalkeeping howlers. The 2 goals we conceded against Burnley had a total combination of 0.15 expected goals. Van Dijk goal had 0.06 XG goal rating but De Gea just let it go in.

Just shows you how insane a job Solskjaer has done. Teams create nearly nothing against us.

4 goals conceded in 14 games. All of them down to GK errors.
