His Prem record is far superior to the previous manager

Jose
P19 W10 D4 L5

Five losses only to United, Liverpool, Chelsea (twice), Wolves. So only losing to some of the better teams, despite being without his two main strikers for months.

Pochettino
P12 W3 D5 L4

includes losses to the likes of Brighton and Newcastle

Jose has steadied the ship, despite having to take over from a complete mess of a situaiton.

Jose won over 50 per cent of his Prem matches, Poch won 25 per cent. Case closed.

Jose lost to Southampton in the league and got us knocked out of the CL and FA cup. But i guess that was the players, but it wasnt the players fault under the last manager

posted on 29/6/20

Poch’s win ratio was 55.59%.

unbelievable win percentage for a manager not backed, getting CL 4 seasons out of 5 seasons after coming into the club in a bigger mess than he left it in, reaching a league cup and CL final.

I think Spurs have looked better since the break, will see how that plays out over the next few weeks

Remember though. This is the first time in Jose’s career where he’s joined halfway through a season. I rate Poch highly but he had to go - he had clearly run out of ideas with the players he had. He’ll go on and do well elsewhere no doubt with a fresh start and new ears to listen to what he has to say.

I think Jose will finish strongly this season and spurs fans will be cautiously optimistic for next year.

I agree, but that must continue to the end of the season.

I’m sure if Poch’s win ratio was 25% we would have noticed.

we were definately spoilt with some brilliant attacking football for years prior to this which has certainly got us tougher on Jose and his style. However we will not be complaining if this gets us results. Need to win at least 7 more games this season, possible will still get us fack all but its a statement and confidence builder.

Next season everyone will be under a microscope especially as Chelsea and United look like getting a lot stronger, and the likes of Wolves and Leicester have overtaken.

I knew you’d know!

That is pretty poor, and I award Jose a generous 5/10.

If he can get the wins up to 17 I’ll revise it to 7/10.

I think Jose has done well considering the mess Poch left us in after he left. He should have walked away after the Champions League final and given Jose a pre season but he wanted to implement his loser mentality on the squad one more time I guess.

posted on 29/6/20

Your stats are wrong Sandy, league is P19 W9 D4 L6

CL is P4 W1 L3

FA cup not including pens is P5 W2 D3

So an overall record of P28 W12 D7 L9

And having to change stadium when he made the last one a fortress, which wasn't even very smooth as we had to play at Wembley first for a year.

People seem to forget that. Imagine how Klopp would have coped if they had to change stadium this season.

To further unpick this...

We had 14 points from 12 games when Jose joined
We now have 45 points from 31 games.

So it's 31 points from 19 games. Assuming sandy thought we won the saints away game?

That’s why I give him 5/10 so far.

Let’s see how we finish, can’t work out Ropey league places but as always the aim should be to finish as high as possible and see what that brings.
