we gave Arsenal the guard of honor when they used to win titles and then followed it up with a 4-0 win.

The only time I’ve seen guard of honour mentioned on here was by Liverpool fans, and this article..

No I don’t agree with Murphy.

It’s been going on for years and not a big deal.

Pep will be using this as a motivational tool I’d imagine.

I think a guard of honour should be optional (surely it is?), therefore it’s up the players and club.

Its the first time I've seen it raised on this forum

Danny Murphy is also a former liverpool player

This backs up the OP. Liverpool gave a guard of honour to the likes of Stephen Hughes, Luis Boa Morte, Gilles Grimandi, Matthew Upson

Mentions in the article that they will get a guard of honour for all their remaining games

That does seem a bit excessive. Always been just the game after winning the title in the past

But we are so much better than any that have gone before that it is only right that all the teams we have left to play should be given the honour of being allowed to give us a guard of honour.

If Danny Murphy said 2+2=4 I'd still disagree with him.

A guard of honour at every remaining game? That can't be right. When did we start doing that?

Arsenal gave RVP a guard of honour, I’m sure City can suck it up and do the same

Danny Murphy is desperately trying to be the LFC version of Roy Keane. Always having a moan.

* Guard of honour champions 2020

Also, D Murphy is a prikk and has a chip on his shoulder for some reason. Terrible pundit too although they're all bad really 😕

It's a nice enough gesture, albeit a bit pointless all in all.

A lot of the players know each other and will have congratulated their rivals away from the pitch - this is mainly a PR exercise, presumably suggested by Sky.

My thoughts are, that I've never seen one person on here mention it until we won the league. Now it is mentioned pretty much every day. Weird.

You really believe that?

You guys really do think that different rules apply for Liverpool, don't you?

Sigh.

Don’t recall the same debate about it last season. Can’t recall it being an issue prior to that, aside from it being an opportunity to wind rival fans up.

I am saying what I am seeing. I have never seen guard of honour mentioned at any point of this site but have seen it in at least half a dozen articles since we won it. "You guys" is a sweeping statement. I don't speak for anyone else and unless you are trying to say what I have or haven't seen, I am not really sure what your point is?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Two things:

1. Has it crossed your mind that maybe you haven't noticed it before? Of course it's been discussed before.

2. I've seen several Liverpool fans openly claim that Liverpool are treated differently on this forum. It's really quite pathetic and I don't know whether it's because they're desperate for a narrative that allows them to behave like an idiot or whether they genuinely believe that people think differently about Liverpool than any other club.

What debate?

Every time it happens, some people say they like it and others say it's pointless.

You really think this discussion is happening because of some sort of issue with Liverpool? Fack me.
