Murphy's comments really are daft. Yeah none of our midfielder's are as good as De Bruyne, but saying not fit to lace his boots like they're some mid table cloggers
Fabinho arguably gets into every side in the league, and Gini and Hendo would get into most.

He has apologised I think.

It's just a matter of sportsmanship. Not of who is better than who, or by how much.
the city players should hold up asterisk placards as the Liverpool players pass through
these empty stadia, drinks breaks and a gazillion subs, its irrelevant now, not the same comp that started in august

Danny Murphy is desperately trying to be the LFC version of Roy Keane. Always having a moan.

It doesn't really bother me at all.
In one way I'm gutted we're not playing Liverpool in the run in. It'd be good for some of our players to stand there clapping seeing that their big rivals have won the league. They should be saying 'look if they can do it so can we'.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kind of agree with this. Although as a fan I wouldn't really like seeing United giving Liverpool (or anyone) a guard of honour, I think as a manager or player it would be hard to devise a better motivational tool. Like Busby said earlier, I reckon that's how Pep will be seeing it and I wouldn't be surprised to see City turn it on and beat Liverpool.
First i saw of it was a man city fan claiming all us liverpool fans havent shut up about it. Then a load of us liverpool fans on here saying we basically dgas about it etc.

Gb an arsenal fan? Christ he gets around
He Was a Man U fan named Vishnu not so long ago too!
i like the guard of honor, even if it was my team giving it.
nothing wrong with a bit of sportsmanship is there?
only a completely scu**y team like real madrid wouldn't give one.
If everyone is doing the guard of honour before the end of the season then Arsenal should hold up placards of a golden trophy with the caption 'almost'.

I am impressed at how GB keeps up the act. Would be great if he suddenly reincarnated himself into Spurs fan and teamed up with Sandy to wind up liverpool fans
Didn't you know!!!

GoH is about respecting your opponents and honouring their achievement, so dunno where Murphy is getting this "Who's better than Whomever," rubbish from because it's irrelevant to why these are done. Proving how much class and decorum he lacks yet again I suppose.
That said though, I don't think it's something that should be being done for every match left. That's some excessive BS and as a manager, I'd refuse to give it unless they clinched the title in our game or we were the last game of the season. ONE GoH on title clinching night and/or one ceremonial/symbolic one at the last match of the season maybe. But every match til the end stinks of "Every team must bow down and pay homage." Almost like "Well they can't get their open top bus parade atm so let's make all the other players bow down to them instead.
In 2007 Chelsea gave united the guard of honour, the team included Dong, Eagles, Richardson and the polish keeper who’s name I can’t spell
What a memorable occasion the guard of honour will be for our beloved Liverpool friends.

we gave Arsenal the guard of honor when they used to win titles and then followed it up with a 4-0 win.

Is it really that humiliating for KDB to applaud for 10 seconds to a team they are 20 odd points behind. If you don't wanna do the guard of honor to anyone then go and win the league - or at least challenge until the end. and for the Liverpool fans crying that it's only being mentioned cos it's them -the same nonsense (will they won't they?) crept up when we won the league in 2007 v Chelsea and 2013 v Arsenal.
