Busby (U19985)

Fair points - although he's 25 this year, so it's debatable how much long term value there is with him in that sense.

Wouldn't be a terrible signing if it doesn't replace the need for a bigger signing.

Yeh, which is why I ask about cost though.

If he's costing £40 million + then that's a lot for a squad player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yep, for someone who isn't a guaranteed starter, it pretty much does boil down to cost.

£40m, fine. £30m + tuanzebe, sure. £80m, no chance. And I guess we all agree that getting grealish + sancho would be great; settling for grealish as a (not much) cheaper version of sancho would be very disappointing.

Yeah I do understand this, but we’ve no idea if Sancho is attainable.

But if Ole wants him and sees value in the fee I’m happy to back his judgement at this moment in time.
We have Rashford, Maguire, AWB, Henderson, McTominay and Greenwood. I read Ole values having a group of British players at the heart of the team, so maybe he’s looking at what’s available.

We need to be able to compete with Man City, and to do that over a season we need to be able to rotate our squad like they can, without seeing a drop off in the Cali the of player coming off the bench.

Me?
For me, he's better than Mount and Maddison, who get lavished in praise.
Of course being a big fish at Villa is different to playing for Utd.

Castles is unreliable.

Jim cocklord has confirmed that Dortmund will only let him move as part of a swap with greenwood.

Rumours circling that Pogba and Bruno both got injured in a training ground collision today and may both be out injured. If so, we may find out just how limited we are in a creative sense without them against Bournemouth

@ian_lyeing22m hearing Fernandes and Pogba were both stretchered off after colliding whilst celebrating a Lingard wondergoal. Not looking good for the Bournemouth game. More to follow...

As in Lingard scored and they were wondering how?

Would be just our luck if those rumours are true.

I was worried that they might get in each other’s way if they both play AM, but this would just be taking it to extremes.

Surely this rumour isn’t true. Would be just our luck with injuries though, as said above.

@ian_lyeing5m Looks bad for Fernandes, bad injury to his metatarsal, early indications suggest min 2-3 months for similar injuries, Pogba may be for 3 + weeks, twisted ankle. Ole looking to bolster the midfield by pushing jones in and using Lingard at no10.

Pereira was trying to give it to a different paper but misplaced his pass.
