You could almost see the confidence flood back. Particularly Vardy, it was great to see a trademark goal with him outpacing the defence.

Gary Cahill seemed to be holding them up well at the back for a while but I thought Palace were poor in the second-half. They didn’t deserve a draw and left themselves hopelessly exposed down their right flank for Vardy’s long run.

I can’t see how Roy would have been pleased with that performance.

That 100 goal monkey is off his back now. Vardy to tear it up last 5 games

P.S. Lovin' the positivity from B.S

The most important thing today was to win. I don’t think the performance papered over the cracks, and personally I still thought we were poor until the last 20, but it was so pleasing to see the confidence returning as the game wore on.

Vardy looked like a different player after his goal, and Barnes made a positive impact. Let’s hope they continue from there on Tuesday. Praet also looked to have more energy and added some bite to our midfield.

The question is what formation and team starts against arsenal. I have no idea what our best team or formation is anymore. What I do know if we need to get at Arsenal’s defence and not let them come at us.

Personally, I’d play 3 at the back and put Tielemans in behind Vardy in a 3-5-1-1. But that isn’t something Rodgers does!

I think it was equally important to get Vardy back on the scoresheet. The young midfielders we have will get far more confidence from knowing their efforts are likely to be rewarded.

Get in Arsenal! Come on Watford!

The Arsenal result helps us no end because it’s gives us a gap to 6th. With United on fire it’s going to be difficult to keep holding Chelsea off. Our route to CL may actually be 5th this year

Hard to see us finishing above Man Utd or Chelsea looking at the fixture lists. Man U in particular look like getting 13 points minimum in their current form.

We’d better hope Man City’s appeal is rejected and Wolves have mixed results.

Shame it become reliant on that. I’m still hoping we find some form and get some results so we don’t start next season on a low!

Chelsea have got some tricky games, Man Utd, Liverpool, Wolves, and I think Sheffield Utd.

Do we think it’s a straight shoot out between us and Wolves for 5th place now?

That’s kind of how I’m feeling. Win at Arsenal and I might change my tune.

I’m more hopeful that it’s a straight shoot out between us and Chelsea for 4th.

United are gonna shiiiting themselves at the prospect of facing Choudhury and Mendy

Depends if Choudhury can slam Fernandes in the first 10 minutes, get away with a yellow then be immediately subbed.

*I’m not saying this is an honourable strategy.

In fact, I’d be curious how a Kamark-esque man-marking job from Choudhury on Fernandes might go. 3-4-2, Choudhury in a free role to chase Bruno around literally everywhere he goes.

Hmm. I was expecting someone to pick up on me being supremely optimistic about us still being in a position to challenge United for 3rd when we play our last game!

Interesting thought about having Hamza chasing Fernandes, although I'm not sure about Dunge's idea of us playing with 10 men.

We may need something from the UTD game for 5th?

Nuneaton - That was deliberate. No point including him in a formation is he’s doing a full man marking job.

posted on 5/7/20

Well, after tonight’s result I think we’re all confident of challenging for second right.

Right?

That was a great match to watch as a neutral. I hope Southampton are feeling that stubborn when they visit Old Trafford.
