Our front 3

If, big if, we can carry on our big game form while beating these sort of teams... next season could see us competing... and this front line has more room to improve too

Feeling good as a mother focker right now!

We’re only competing if we sign more quality players, no way are our best players staying fit all season.

Yeah we don’t seem to have relied on our front three as much this season, which is good. More goals spread out the side.

Was surprised to see this stat but fair play, your 3 strikers are doing really well.

Your number 9 is not good in the linkup play. Firmino doesn't score a lot but his linkup play is worldclass. Dropping in midfield and our wide forwards making the inside diagonal runs is our way of playing.

Defences wins you league titles and if you want to challenge you need to buy a worldclass defender.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
do we need a number 9 to do that?

with bruno and Pogba we have so much creativity, Liverpools midfield is all about work rate and winning the ball back with the creativity coming from out wide.

we can have a number 9 who scores because we don't need someone to be creative in the middle unlike the way Klopp sets up/personnel in midfield.

RE defenses: yes we have shipped 8 more goals than you having played a game more but when I reflect on our season it wasn't the goals we conceded it was our inability to unlock stubborn defenses, too many draws despite dominating the play that has put us in this position.

with. Paul and Bruno playing together that clearly isn't an issue anymore. in the 3 games they've started and played together we have scored 11 goals. in the 2 they didn't we scored 3.

keeping them fit will be key, forget Sancho we need to go all out and hire Liverpools fitness coach.

Was both surprised and happy with this stat?

Next season will be pivotal for out forwards, another years experience and another years playing together, remains to be seen if they can keep it up but I feel all three will improve

Will Liverpools? 🤔

at 22, 24 and 18 compared with 28 (soon to be 29), 28 and 28 you would assume the united front 3 should keep getting better wheres the pool 3 are at the peak of their powers.

tbh the key take away from this is just how little Firmino contributes.

you keep hearing that he doesn't score but his contribution is why salah and mane score so much, but they're being outscored by kids, so it is surprising they didn't go out for Werner.

I do wonder how much cash pool have, if the Werner buy getting vetoed rumor is true and given they tried to furlough staff will be intriguing to see if they strengthen.

one of Fergie best qualities is that he always strengthened even after cantering to the title because he knew the competition would get stronger and stronger
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Firminho's numbers are ridiculous.I have long argued that he is the reason Liverpool dont move to the next level and Ive been told he is world class and his role is important for Salah and mane.

Think of it this way, with those numbers Firminho would NEVER play for Barca or Real Madrid in any ERA.

Suppose it indicates where liverpool still are as a football club.

What do you mean by the next level though? They’ve won both major competitions in two years?

one stat I didn't know

we have now scored 5 times or more in 4 of our last 15 games.

prior to that we had it done it 3 times in the prior 367 games since fergies retirement game.

Was just going to say this, what level is above what we are?

Does he mean with a different striker we’d win a treble? Not sure I’d agree with that

What is this gibberish?

The next level is probably winning doubles and back to back leagues etc...

posted on 5/7/20

Imagine if we had full backs such as Trent and Robertson...our front 3 would grab a minimum of 5 more each.

Obviously I know in reality a formation with 2 attack minded playmakers as well as two wing backs wouldn't work, but surely we can find someone a tad more productive than Shaw.

But how can he be holding us back from “the next level” when that is back to back leagues, when we’ve only just won our first title?

It’s nonsense. Firmino is a large part of why we’re as good as we are, he doesn’t score as many as a traditional striker because he isn’t a traditional striker.

posted on 5/7/20

It’s because he’s not that good. Most overrated player in the league.

Lol he is 5th on shots at goal in the entire league but he has 8 goals

Traditional striker, the guy isn’t clinical that’s it. Doesn’t matter that he presses and he is a play maker

Next level is Liverpool dominating back to back titles, domestic cups etc
