I would give him that, especially if some of it is performance based, as rumoured. We'd have to spend a lot more to replace him with someone who may not be effective

Which other club would give him 300k?

Give him the damn contract and be done with it

Any club that gets him on a free transfer will surely pay him more than £250k

If he wants to sign for 3 years on 250k I'd definitely give it to him - I know it's a stretch but he's worth it

He will be 32 when he's on a free transfer so I doubt it

If we can get Ozil to fack off (who seems determined to see it out), why not? Auba is our top performer and should be our highest paid player. I hope whatever buffoon was responsible for Ozil's contract gets raped to death by a pack of hyenas.

Yup, and a consistent goalscorer is worth his weight in gold, Aubameyang scores similar numbers to Henry - enough said...

I don't care if Auba literally ends up going on permanent "Özil-type" holiday as soon as the ink dries on any potential new contract.

He's done more than enough to earn a comfortable extension.

If we can get an agreement with Auba that would be signal in the right direction. I really hope he stays.

If he leaves we would have to gamble for a striker in the transfer market.

There are plenty of big clubs who would happily pay him £250k + a week - Sane's apparently being paid £380k a week by bayern, £250k would only make him the 4th highest earner at United, Bale's on £600k at Madrid etc.

What I don't know is how many of those clubs are currently in for a striker, RM seem to be linked to martinez and haaland, barca to neymar, PSG might be an option if neymar and/or mbappe leave, maybe Juve? Chelsea might have wanted him, but I guess Werner nixes that idea.

But unless you/your medical team have any serious doubts about his fitness, or his ability to still be pacy and explosive in 2-3 years, I don't see why you wouldn't want him to stay.

Pay the man and forget having to worry about a striker too this window. Bit of luck and he can stay pacey, explosive and goal scoring long enough to let Eddie finish up his transition to full senior football. Not seeing that taking three years right now, if he can avoid major injury.

How old are Messi, Lewandowski, Ronaldo? Not saying Auba is as good as Messi or Ronaldo but they are on significantly more at 32, with his lack of significant injuries, Auba will still be a force to reckon with. Auba right now is worth at least 40m with a year left. Over three years, that is 256k a week. Add wages of around 200 to 250k a week, a team would be looking to pay almost 500k a week over the course of a 3 year deal. If you get him on a free, you can easily afford a 3 year deal at 300k or even 350k a week.

This is exactly what I was talking about. Any team that gets him on a free transfer won't mind to give him at least £250k a week. He has been one of our most used/featured players since he came to the club with little or no injury at all.
