Greenwood has a knack of turning a half chance into a chance via a couple of subtle touches or body feints. He's the most polished 18 year old I've seen at our club in my lifetime and yes, that includes Rooney and Ronaldo.

He should be starting 80% of our games just like teenage Ronaldo and Rooney did. Those saying we should bring in a world class RW and Greenwood can continue starting the odd game here and there are contradicting themselves when they also say he's a generational talent.

Sancho didn't get the numbers he's been getting by being a squad player at 18. Mbappe, Messi, Ronaldo...proper generational talents were starting week in week out at 18.

I think Greenwood is benefiting from minimal game time, but it's certainly encouraging at the moment.

Greenwood doesn't necessarily have to be the one to be dropped. If Sancho was here right now, then on current form, it would be Rashford being benched.

Regardless it would be absolutely stupid and negligent not to bring in another quality forward. We won't be winning much with James and Chong filling in for our front three if they're out for a month or two.

With European football we have 2 games a week. There's plenty of games to make sure everyone is starting at least one game and subbing in a second.
Normally the first 6-8weeks of the season are the exception when we have 1 game a week. But this year the PL season starts late and the European games start as normal, so that window will be much smaller. I say bring on Sancho..

very impressive stuff...i read elsewhere that his xg (hi hafi!) in the PL is 2, compared to the 8 he has scored, which is the statistical way of saying what we can all see, that he isn't just tucking away tap-ins on the 6 yard line, but scoring from positions which you wouldn't really describe as a chance at all.

and without checking all their stats, i would guess that he is outperforming his XG much more than anyone else on that list.

I agree with this but spending 100m post-corona means you're buying someone who you're looking to build your team around for the next decade.

Sancho will expect to start 90% of our games. Martial is our only productive no.9. Rashford is Ole's golden boy. I can't see how Greenwood gets in ahead of these three in the pecking order next season barring injuries. I'd hate to see Greenwood starting only 7 league games next season.

Vardy, great return. He doesn't look like a great striker, but he is one.

Don wow. Greenwood expected goals is 2.71 vs the 8 PL goals he has scored. Most likely due to how many goals he has smashed in from half a chance.

15/16 season was supposedly boring but for our strikers they had tons of shots. Interestingly Solskjaer is looking at the goal difference side of things so he must be thinking about Leicester City in that regard. Lets hope we keep smashing the goals in.

Sancho would take greenwood's place on the wing and greenwood would move up to 9

brilliant post
I agree we need another top quality attacker an it makes sense if it is a rwf like every utd fan wants

whatI disagree withis the sentiment thant on signing whoever greenwood drops to the bench an wait like a good little boy for his next opportunity. Not to overstate it but he is as deadly as cr7/rooney were at similar stages and the were integeral first team players so he can be one too.

whoever joins needs to understand they have to earn their starting place as do martial and rashford. 4 top attackers should get plenty of games between them
