Maguire is a good defender but has a couple of major limitations, which is fine if you get the right balance.

If Maguire is “shte” then the rest of our back four must be pretty incredible given that since Christmas we’ve had the tightest defence in the PL, despite having an error prone keeper between the sticks and despite us outscoring everyone else in the league since January.

na, maguire gets over criticised when hes poor, and over praised when he does slightly well.
The truth is hes a "good" centre back, no more, no less. He will need a decent partner imo.

I’d go with this, if by good you mean good for a title challenging side.
Usually though, you need a top class CB alongside somebody of his calibre. Few and far between these day’s though.

He's improved our defence for a start.
I think people are starting to question the defence again because of one lacklustre game.
We’ve barely conceded since January and literally every goal has been an individual error. If we can cut those out we will be fine.

That story came from Christian Falk who is a reliable source in Germany and if Dortmund are making those sort of noises it sounds like they need to cash in.
