I haven’t read through all the comments but tbh anybody who has actually watched the replays and says it wasn’t a red card are just embarrassing themselves

Like the officials?

Gotcha.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yea they should be embarrassed

There may be some residual hate/resentment left from Wenger being here. But generally media/official bias occurs every season, against the vast majority of the league teams. In favour of whichever teams are the sports media darlings of the season.

The last few seasons, Liverpool finally in reach of another title after so long. They've been the biggest bias beneficiary for about 3-4 seasons now. Them plus one. Last season it was Spurs due to their run. This season the plus one is Leicester due to pundits creaming themselves over Rodgers returning for some reason. Next season it'll be Pool again and whomever takes the media fancy. Hell if Arteta can keep the young English talent at AFC playing well, might even be us.

Point is, this is something that happens every season and goes through cycles, largely dictated by the best form on the pitch or the best "Story" off it. Pool playing the best footy, Leicester the allegedly glorious return of Rodgers/Spurs CL run. It's something that will never change because it is human nature.

Oh btw, Vardy wasn't a red. They fall, he scrambles to get up, as he does. And as he twists, he catches Mustafi. Looked to me like he was trying to scramble up, to get back at it but felt something hit his foot. Then looked backed and saw it was Mustafi's face. I've seen Vardy's face when he's kicking someone one purpose and I never saw it at all in that incident.

Though both incidents were accidents, I wouldn't even have booked Vardy for that but I'd have reluctantly sent Eddie off all day long. Even though I think that Leicester player ran his own knee into a challenge where he SHOULD have just accepted he'd lost the ball. If you watch, HE runs into an already extended Nketiah, not the other way around. Tough luck for Eddie and even tougher to swallow given the impact on the result. But his fault or not, it's a red card.

This challenge tonight wasn’t even VAR checked. Similar to Nketiah but Looks worse and with more intent . Just seems VAR is being used with the same inconsistencies as usual ref decisions were, which is what it was meant to try to get rid of

This is the problem. You'll never be able to get rid of that human error element while there are still humans running it. What used to be the ref's mistakes is now the mistakes of some other bloke's in a box somewhere.

You really think that the media have picked Arsenal out and decided to be biased against them?

Dear me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I dont think they have specifically hand picked the club and said yeah lets be bias against them.

They just generally are
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Don’t think they’re biased really. Just pundits in media are just lazy and repeat same tropes that have been spoken about for years. With us they just always say our main problem is the defence is terrible, but we have good midfield and attack. Whereas really our midfield has been the main issue for a while.

Think as well media like to portray us as soft, so any challenge they write off because our players are just soft and don’t stand up to the physical side of them game. It all goes back to when Wenger started using small younger players. It’s not as true as it was. It’s not them really being biased or they don’t like the club, just too lazy and too unimaginative to analyse the game in a new way. I’m sure other teams have a similar frustration

I think that’s an excellent contribution mate - very good points.

Tbf some rules create this. problem. Offside is a typical example. What should be simply "Whose foot is past whose." Has been over complicated with crap about other body parts in mid air ("His shoulder is leaning offside" )There's too much room for interpretation in the rule book. Make the rules more clear cut and absolute. Then you wouldn't get this problem so much. Still little because people will still make outright mistakes. But nowhere near the constant joke we're seeing atm. Due to things being far less open to the personal interpretation of individual officials.

Yesterday is a good example. The type contact made by Eddie, is not at all open to interpretation, it has to be red. If it was in any way open, then Eddie would have stayed on. Neither the VAR official or the ref wanted to send him off but on that particular rule, they are forced to by the rule itself. You could tell no one wanted to send him off because they took ages looking at it. I think clutching straws to find a way to not send off the unlucky enthusiastic kid 2mins after he come on. There wasn't one

Yes which in some ways makes VAR pointless, in a lot of instances they’re basically taking ages to make same mistakes or inconsistencies that a ref makes in about 5 seconds

And there we have it. Remember what I mentionned earlier in the article. Straight after we get screwed over there's always anther example of someone else getting away with same thing straight away.

Thing is about this. Every time we get screwed over, straight after there is an example of another team getting different treatment for same thing. Watch tonight and tomorrow and I guarantee it will happen

So weak and pathetic, unable to admit they are clearly wrong so clinging on for dear life. Just get some backbone and admit you are wrong

In what way is the foul in the west ham game not as bad then??

Everyone is biased against Arsenal. Biased and corrupt.

There needs to be a public enquiry.

You may joke but it's really not funny. Corruption in English football has harmed many teams, not only us but there's zero doubt that it's been happening. Where big money goes corruption follows not long after - always and if you have half a brain and have watched English football regularly for the past 15 years you should have realised it too.

Too stupid to finish what he started so resorting to the most awful banter ever seen on the forum. Is there a more pitiful specimen of a man than this Winston fellow?

Aye, he skipped past my last message earlier in this article too after he learned a thing or two about refereeing decisions.
