You guys really are putting the Wesley Snjeider curse on Sancho by talking about signing him so often 😂

And Garay

I would not be surprised if the Sancho deal cannot be done given Dortmund’s demands and our liquidity, or if it is done, it’s the only incoming business we do this summer.

Worst case scenario, we have to use some of the £90m cash reserve that Ed has been so excited to tell selling clubs about to meet OPEX obligations.

Is ddg a title winning gk though now?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
was kasper schmeichel?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

True. Leicester will go down as a bit of an anomaly though that year, I think you’ll need more than 81 points to win it in 20-21. Liverpool’s gonna be up there, doubt Pep will want us to slack off again, and you and Chelsea are making moves

who p!ssed in rosso's cornflakes this morning? the fact that he is broadly right doesn't make it any more digestible at this time of day.

in terms of salaries we shouldn't get our hopes up too soon, but there have been whispers of sanchez's form improving, and of inter looking to take him off our hands for good.

DDG clearly has some confidence issues at the moment and he's not the best in the league with his feet, but he's still a top quality keeper and he wouldn't be the reason for us not winning the league imo.

A few people have mentioned DDG and his confidence issues. No doubt that he is a world class keeper in his prime and every player goes through a rough patch but not a strong leader, and this resonates through his body language.

This reminds of Liverpool a few years back and Pepe Reina. Great keeper and semi decent squad which challenged for the title and Man Utd currently reminds me of that.

I think one of the pieces of a title winning team is to have an imposing and confident keeper. If you look at the title winning teams, obviously Peter Schmeichel firs that bracket. With VDS, although not imposing, but very assured and confident. If you look at Ederson and Allision, very assured and confident.

In my opinion, DDG has gone a bit stale, that wow factor has disappeared but not sure of who is available in the market that is good enough to replace him. I don't think Henderson is quite ready yet and has mistakes in him.

Probably the cat again

If Inter were prepared to pay half of Sanchez’s wages, we could feel very, very lucky indeed.

One way or another we’ll be paying him something until summer 2022

Champs league money
Sanchez wages off the books
Income from outgoing transfers
New sponsors

Yes debt is up, yes we miss the gate receipts, but Covid has hit all clubs hard, even the biggest. I still think we are in a strong position transfer business wise.

And worse case scenario, the Glazers have to sell all or part of their stake to reduce debt.

We won’t get all of Sanchez’s wages off the books. There’s just no way he’s taking a massive pay cut or Inter are agreeing to pay close to the full whack. We’ll be paying £200k per week (or an equivalent lump sum) minimum I’d bet.

As for outgoing sales, I’d be amazed and actually impressed if we could recoup more than £50m from the sale of all of Jones, Rojo, Lingard (considering his wages), Mata (dame) and Pereira. And I don’t think we’ll see more than four outgoings.

While signing Sancho would be a good thing, I believe that if we can keep our main players fit, we can challenge next season withrhe squad we have now.

Where do you think we’d come in? While Sancho would be good, he wouldn’t single handedly turn us into title contenders.

Why can't we challenge next season.?
We have a good record against the top teams, now we are best the lesser teams.

I think, from a neutral perspective on this, United need a faster CB to pair with Maguire and I am unconvinced by Luke Shaw. Brandon Williams looks a talent, but he is still developing and it will take time.

So for me you are two players short even if you buy Sancho.

This isn't me being biased - my team, Chelsea, need a commanding CB, a LB and a GK.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Shaw is better in a defensive 3, neither of our preferred fullbacks are very good in an attacking sense, but are solid defenders. I’d happily have someone more capable in attacking than shaw, even if it meant a slight drop in defence. As Liverpool have shown top attacking fullbacks make a huge difference.

Fair enough.

With CBs - apparently you are linked with Ake. He is better than the club he plays for suggests, and is nice on the ball, but I don't see him as a step up from Lindelof really.

Neither do I
