Scunner, you get like this every time something goes against Leeds!..

So, if you don't want to talk to the wife than there's only one place to go if its as bad as you make it sound, and I don't need to repeat good advice others have given!..

Not sure how bad it is with you, but some on our board,(and some outside I think!)know I had a lot of problems a few years ago!..

My Wife was a few years ill, lost my job,(got my notice when she was in a Coma!)because of my Wife long time ill and not being able to work, my pay,(and then no pay!)wasn't enough to pay the bills!..

I had my car I'd just finished paying for taken away!..

My Flat,(we were buying!)taken away!..

My Wife passed away!..

And Suicide played with my head about everyday!..

People here gave the same advice to me as they are doing you, all I can say is if the British system is as good as the German then do what people are saying to do!..

I've been to Specialists and they've helped me with everything!..

All the best Scunner, hope its only a football thing that'll go away no matter what happens!.

Second that Prankster.

Germany, damn, I had no idea what you were
dealing. You mentioned things on some threads.
So forgive me if you were more detailed on the
ones I didn't get to read. That's a massive
amount to deal with. I hope you're doing better
now and maybe in some daft way this board
and the club can help. All the best

Lots of great advice on here. When you're down its so difficult to be bothered to do any of it - definitely cut out booze, take exercise and talk to professionals. Best wishes

Scunner, keep you head mate - we're nearly through it, hold tight, things get better!

I do think Leeds will do it, and really hope so as three mates are mad Leeds men and last season sucked.

Good advice to OP to hit booze etc on the head, as a hangover only makes matters worse and drink....
it is a depressant too.

Get healthy or healthier as a new goal, mate.

Does anybody else find music / a certain track that lifts spirits?

I remember years ago radio 1 used to do a 'changing track', a song that was personal to some people that when they heard it, allowed them to put there troubles into context?

Big Frank

That's Life
Frank Sinatra
That's life (that's life), that's what all the people say
You're riding high in April
Shot down in May
But I know I'm gonna change that tune
When I'm back on top, back on top in June
I said, that's life (that's life), and as funny as it may seem
Some people get their kicks
Stompin' on a dream
But I don't let it, let it get me down
'Cause this fine old world it keeps spinnin' around
I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate
A poet, a pawn and a king
I've been up and down and over and out
And I know one thing
Each time I find myself flat on my face
I pick myself up and get back in the race
That's life (that's life), I tell ya, I can't deny it
I thought of quitting, baby
But my heart just ain't gonna buy it
And if I didn't think it was worth one single try
I'd jump right on a big bird and then I'd fly
I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate
A poet, a pawn and a king
I've been up and down and over and out
And I know one thing
Each time I find myself layin' flat on my face
I just pick myself up and get back in the race
That's life (that's life), that's life
And I can't deny it
Many times I thought of cuttin' out but my heart won't buy it
But if there's nothing shakin' come this here July
I'm gonna roll myself up in a big ball and die
My, my

The album "Hi-Fi Serious" by the band "A" is my go too happy place.

Honestly that album never fails to pick me up, even if it's just a tiny amount I always feel better listening to it

Matty - music can be really uplifting I find too.. in some way you can find it fits anyway you like in any different way.

it also for me depends on the sort of mood I'm in.. feeling low, maybe some big Frank above, a loss of a bird, Superman Eminem etc etc..

music or the interpretation of it is very personal.

Whilst I think of my self as fairly well balanced - and thankfully, never experienced 'depression', of course we are all human and these bouts can happen to anybody

Good point on the uplifting power of music.

Get your fav tunes on if feeling down and if you can,, listen outside and watch clouds roll by, or feel the sun on your face.

Hey up all, this is about Scunner, the present!..

I'm the past, but thanks for the thoughts!..

I've been through it and met the people that do a great job at bringing you back into line, must admit sometimes I slip back into that room but I come out fighting because people have shown me the way to get through!..

One of the best ways is to have good friends and family that know the situation and are willing to help you through, but the professional help are the people that put you on the track your meant to follow and advise how to stay on it!..

Frank?......wtf Spit, I'm old school Ozzy, Alice, and anything or should I say most things heavy!..

I think Ozzies Dreaming is something that helps a bit, mind, I like his Junkie as well!.

And no, I've never tried any of it!.

I like John Lennon's Imagine as well!.

Scunner, I would speak to your wife, she will want to help, same way as you would want her to let you know if she needed help.

Life isn't always easy, but people do want to help, it just starts with talking.

scunner, do it please, ring the gp, if not tonight, then 1st thing tomorrow.

And once you open up, you will find people you thought had it sorted are also floundering at times.

We are just humans trying ti make sense of life.

I happened to read this thread before any comment was posted and as I was only after a break and on the road I wanted to see how it evolved and fair play to all the posters from all clubs I never expected so much compassion, just shows that despite there being a rare chance our paths will ever cross unless aligned to the same team shows that we can strip back some of the nastiness shown and reach out to another human and an anonymous person.

I'm not going to lie, when I read the OP, a shiver went up my spine and seriously didn't comment as I thought I might get grief for saying that reading between the lines this man was really at rock bottom.

Having followed the thread my worry has increased when Scunner has not acknowledged I believe to it.

So please if you are reading mate, you have our ear but please be a fella and let us know at least that you've been following it.

Please....🙏

OP or Scunner as boys here call you.

I meant to come on earlier but work and life get in 're way.

I did not want you to think people care for an hour then vanish, so if you are looking in, or with other threads asking about you, Let us know you are ok....or just chat.

Sad news about another Leeds legend big Jack today, but look at the memories he gave Leeds and Republic fans.

Hope you are doing ok and if you feel like it log on, or chat to a GP or family/ friends if you have not done so already, mate.

Take care, and every day at a time.
