City fans do like to embarrass themselves.
I guess they don't watch football much as their stadium is usually dead.
You can argue it's not a penalty but to call it a dive is pretty stupid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bruno dived clutching his legs meanwhile, he was the one who actually stood on the Villa player's leg.
But we all know why John Moss was given the whistle. He's the new Howard Webb.
Beyond the outrage, and hurt feelings, something that should be improving the game, is fecking ruining it.
The tech is sound, beyond the early days of wiggly lines, it's the idiots at Stockley Park, who continually keep feckin things up.

Jesus, It's not like Man City have never cheated have they ( allegedly ).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
CAS will decide on Monday whether we broke any rule. But what United has done these past few weeks with these dodgy penalty calls far outweigh anything City ever did. This stinks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If CAS uphold the ban and decide there's wrongdoing, there's a chance the FA and PL will want to look at the evidence to see if City have contravened their FFP rules. That's when the real trouble could start for City, not some piffling 2 year European ban.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
FA & PL rules were non existent during the period under review.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is this true? Genuine question.
The period under investigation by Uefa was 2012-2016. FA Premier league regulations started in 2013/14 and spans the three years after that. I'd be surprised if they didn't intertwine, which is what I've read.

Yeah, it's weird people are saying he dived, or that he intentionally stamped on the defender.
Whatever you think about the decision, Bruno simply made an attempt to turn, and landed on the defender.
Harsh on Villa but the reaction has been embarrassing to be honest.

I've read similar. If found guilty and the FA agree with it, could lead to retrospective points deductions for prior seasons. Would be harsh but understandable given the circumstances.
Feels like an all or nothing moment in City's future.

Heard it won't include 2011-12, but would include 13-14 when Liverpool finished 2nd.
But that the PL wouldn't look at retrospectively taking trophies away/re-awarding trophies, but would look at points punishments in the present.

Yeah it's more likely they would be stripped from City but not reawarded. Also read that other members would vote on removing them from the league but that would seem very harsh.
All incidental of course, I expect City will have buried the evidence well enough such it won't stack up in courts and they'll get off anyway.

Fair enough, if true.
How is this pen any different from a defender leaving a leg out at tripping a player on the run?
The defender placed his leg where Bruno's foot was supposed to land and thus tripped him... Clear pen!

You can argue it's not a penalty but to call it a dive is pretty stupid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
United fans are blinkered. They'll be fuming if such penalty was awarded against them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What are your thoughts on the Pogba one at the end?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pogba and Greenwood goals were great goals. Especially the Greenwood one. And that's why you don't need the help of any ref.

Jesus, It's not like Man City have never cheated have they ( allegedly ).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
CAS will decide on Monday whether we broke any rule. But what United has done these past few weeks with these dodgy penalty calls far outweigh anything City ever did. This stinks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If CAS uphold the ban and decide there's wrongdoing, there's a chance the FA and PL will want to look at the evidence to see if City have contravened their FFP rules. That's when the real trouble could start for City, not some piffling 2 year European ban.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
FA & PL rules were non existent during the period under review.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is this true? Genuine question.
The period under investigation by Uefa was 2012-2016. FA Premier league regulations started in 2013/14 and spans the three years after that. I'd be surprised if they didn't intertwine, which is what I've read.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Period under investigation was 2012 to 2014. 2015 and 2016 was included in the settlement agreement when UEFA monitored City's compliance with FFP prior to the clearance letter issued in 2017. The PL FFP was non existent in 2014.

Fair enough, if true.

How is this pen any different from a defender leaving a leg out at tripping a player on the run?
The defender placed his leg where Bruno's foot was supposed to land and thus tripped him... Clear pen!

City fans do like to embarrass themselves.
I guess they don't watch football much as their stadium is usually dead.

Is that a round about way of dodging the question?

Isn't it strange UEFA forgot about United's bribery of £7m for a fake friendly, also mentioned in the Der Spiegel emails?
Now that's what real corruption looks like.
