yet we beat them comfortably, which is just being dismissed as part of our "easy run" against teams already on the beach etc

Jurgen Klopp surpasses Fergies all time record points total for a season, for the 2nd year running today.

I am sure Fergie is OK with that. He preceded winning titles not point totals.
It is why we were often winners of multiple trophies in a season.

Indeed, you did used to win multiple trophies in a season, and I'd be glad to think Fergie is happy to see Klopp doing so well.
