£116m for Sancho?

Not being rude but have any of these so called valuations from either club come from any kind of a reputable source?

It’s easy to write a story.

Ed will grind them down to 120m

I highly doubt anyone at your club thinks they are getting anywhere near sancho with an offer of £50m.

116m + i imagine 80-100m contract. Its a lot of money.

Dortmund would be foolish to sell for less than 100m. If and when this pandemic is over the fees will likely return to normal. They really can't lose in this situation

Even if he kicks up a stink his price will remain high and still comfortably over the reported 50m utd will offer

You've got the best front three in the world so you don't really need him 😉

Another question is: would fans be happy to pay £100m+ on Sancho and buy nobody else?

116m is beyond ludicrous.

I personally do not see the point of Sancho. We should spend money on the defence and midfield.

£50m was made up by the rags

But it does seem like Dortmund want to more than £100m for Sancho which in this climate is laughable.

They can do what they want but if Sancho doesn't move this summer his value drops massively next year as he will be in the final year of his contract.

Better for the clubs to agree a fee around £80m and move on.

i'd like to think that the "dortmund insist on £116m" story is posturing on their part, just as much as the "united value him at £50m" story is on ours.

he's clearly very talented, but a) he's never actually done a thing in the PL, so no guarantee he will tear it up, b) he's generally looked worse for england than rashford, and i doubt many people on here value him at £150m, and c) what is dortmund's alternative? hold onto a seemingly unhappy player for 12 (BCD) months, not win the BL, make no impression on the CL, and sell him next year for £50m?

they are suffering financially just as much as PL clubs, the new BL TV deal was lower than the previous one, and i doubt there will be many (or any) £100m+ deals this summer. my guess is he will leave for £70-80m guaranteed, with another £20mish in add-ons.

Cough up, City get a huge cut of any transfer fee.

______________

This. I'm pretty sure both sides can act responsibly in the current climate and reach a compromise with a figure of £115m.

Do we really need to caveat every story about rumours with "please note that rumours are not always based on factual evidence". Are we not all aware of how it works, while still being able to discuss it a bit?

Absolutely not.

It’s be grossly irresponsible considering both the state of the squad and the current economic climate.

I think the type of player to bring in for RW should now be adjusted with the emergence of Greenwood. It looks like Greenwood is ready to be a regular and can't sign a 100m player to sit on the bench. However we still need a capable player to cover RW and I think a player like Traore would be a sensible approach. We can then reinforce our midfield and central defence with the money left plus from players sale.

I don’t care how much he’ll cost this summer, Bring him in,

Sancho can play across the front line. Even if we got no injuries, rotation alone would still see him and all our other attackers play the majority of matches. As it stands, you play Greenwood every week and hope he doesn't get burned out (which he will) or you play Dan James, Mata or Lingard. None of those are adequate back up options
