We have Saliba, Mari, Tierney and Cedric all recently signed. Doubt we will spend much more.
Need legs and fight in CM. A high quality midfielder should be the priority.

Depends on what formation we play next season if its a three I would say we need a really top center half to guide Saliba. There is no center half currently at the club you would say Saliba should be watching in order to learn the art of defending.

Chris Smalling wouldn’t be the worst signing for you. Not the best footballer but at least he can actually defend.

Spend all the money on MF

Arteta is clearly not a fan of Torreira or Guendouzi so sell if you have to

If we can't defend its immaterial who's in midfield, that's the priority, have a solid base then we can build from there. Xhaka and Ceballos have done ok.

Yeah he would be a good signing for Arsenal. I’d still take him back at Utd

Thats not true. If we have a midfield controlling games there will be less opportunities for defenders to fack up.

If you've got a bloke who can't pass the ball 5 yards and another defender who spends more time on the floor it really doesn't matter who is in midfield. Against the better teams you will have to defend. Look at Liverpool up until the last two years they were very good going forward but there defence was terrible, they've only started going places with that solid base.

But, as said already, we have spent money on CBs for next season already.

Depends on who can be shown the door, Sokratis will be going, hopefully Mustafi as well, maybe Holding as well. We have to look long term we've got a guy coming who seems to be a genuine talent in Saliba if we are going to get the best out of him he needs to be next to someone is solid, is there anyone there at the moment we can say 100% solid?

There is no way the likes of Mustafi, Luiz and Kola are leaving before their contracts end.

Time to bring those new guys in as starting. Having a solid defence, or players with at least good concentration levels is what’s required most.
Would be nice to get a creative midfielder or no 10 too alongside a winger but that’s a lot of money

That is not true, DJ.

We have lost 3 games and drew one after the restart.

We lost these games through individual defensive errors. We can have the best midfield in the league when we dont sort out these errors we are going nowhere.

How many errors by Saliba, Cedric, Tierney and Mari in that?

posted on 12/7/20

Isn't the problem is that these guys ain't even good enough to be backups they have to be replaced. If we need to compromise to get rid of them by taking a smaller fee then in the long run it will benefit the club. The owners must provide funds, ultimately their decisions have got the club in a mess they need to rectify it. If they don't then sell the club to someone who is going to do something about it.

No one is buying them and paying the wages. These players will see out their contracts.

Didn't see those names in my list.

You can't blame players who have barely/never played and replace them. We spent a fair bit on a new back 4, maybe give those players a chance and sort out CM.

We will see, the club can't move forward with them in the team or anywhere near it that's for sure.

Today was more Arteta's fault than those players. He was always asking too much of that back three, given the opposition's wing strength. We'll get massacred by pool if he sets up like that for them and likely City too. These defenders are not good enough to play that system against top teams. They can't cope with the wingers and WBs. Son/Lucas were destined to get joy all day and they did.

Arsenal suffers from a lack of talent and often from a lack of effort, they are a mess!

Arteta might be a nice guy but he is not the person to right this ship. Arsenal needs a seasoned manager that the players will respect, or they will begone.

In the meantime the famous Arsenal FC will continue to slide into the shadows of the likes of Wolves, Sheffield Utd. and Burnley, and even Spurs, in addition to the top four!

He'll be fine as soon as he gets it's through his head that the level of player he's been used to coaching, is way more talented than the majority of our squad. So he can't do here what he done there. Not until he's built a far stronger squad. Too many in this one are just plain and simple, not good enough to execute certain things, playing against certain teams.

I'll call what I see as his mistakes but I won't write him off just yet. See how well he learns from them first. Will be interesting to see if he's dumb enough to play three at the back for Pool and City too.
