Rotation isn't the problem. It's the tendency to abandon all attacking principles late in games if we are defending a narrow lead. Thrown away numerous points in similar situations this season

Would you have written this article if you would have held on to a 2-1 lead?

I think not, also the 2 injuries to the left backs were not down to being fatigued, but why ignore facts to big up an article

Yeah that is why players like Fred are not good enough. I noticed all he was doing was retreating near box and trying to win tackles there. Never once tried to keep the ball. Shocking game management that led to that corner. We hoofed it clear and dropped deep and gifted them a corner. Shows you we need another quality midfielder. It was frustrating goal to concede but we should have finished the game off.

as a team we did look knackered, but not sure that's on ole...i'm guessing we're not doing much (if any) training at the moment, with the games 72-96 hours apart, and we didn't look too tired at the end of the villa match, plus we brought a few players off early.

so i won't blame him for today, but we have a few issues for thursday - i'm guessing by the way that a cut to the head, a la williams, does not count as a head injury that rules you out of the next match?

I think Williams would have cleared that last ball as well. We should have played keep ball at the end. Couldn't believe we hoofed it back to them and a few seconds later they got a corner they scored from. Reminded me of our game against Liverpool, came close to getting the next goal twice but then at the end kept going deeper and getting rid of the ball and they finally got a break and scored.

If we hadn’t dropped deep in both games we would have won. No idea why teams start letting the opposition attack you at the end when you have been attacking them tor most of the game.

Need to rest players in the FA Cup, Chelsea will do the same. If not, so be it.

Igalho, Pereira, Mata, Lingard, James, Bailly, Dalot etc etc all need to start

Southampton haven't been rotating their first 11 much also and their squad cost a fraction of yours. No excuses for this result I'm afraid

Yes I would have said so. Only Martial, Rashford and Shaw had a good game.and it's no surprise really after so many games within a few weeks.

I didn't say the inuries were due to fatigue.

Lurker most of those are poor players
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's a risk, even a sacrifice. CL means too much to our future to care about the FA cup. Sad as it may be.

Did you miss the red card incident? Or that we lost 2 left backs to injuries and finished with 10 men?

So are you suggesting that having superior players means nothing in this current sitation.

Right oh then, why didn't you play a full 2nd 11 of fresh inferior players then.Would you have been happy if ole had rested the whole first team ?

This is baring in mind your second string fully refreshed players would still be more expensive than Southampton's equally knackered first team

So why bring up rotation and the injuries?

In fact Southampton have played 1 more game post covid against Norwich. So their players should be more knackered than yours who in the 4 previuos games had 3 goal leads and coasted at the end of games.

PISSPOOR excuse claiming that your players were knackered IMO.

Looking like we might have to sack the FA Cup off. Chelsea probably thinking the same.
