I don’t buy into this top 5 in your position makes you world class garbage.
A world class player should be a seriously talented footballer who can win matches on his own. I would agree with all the players on the OP’s list except for Silva (only coz he’s winding down) and Kante because of his injuries.

Lots of the players are being mentioned on the back of one half decent season (Pereira). Others (TAA and Robertson etc) are patently not WORLD class. There are lots of very good players in the premier league but not many are top, top TOP players season in season out. When people mention Scholes, the man did it over a decade, every year. Pogba doesn't even do it for his girlfriend. Lots of these players have world class reputations but are not world class performers.

I think you can be world class at certain things too. Auba is a world class finisher, TAA a world class crosser.
I don't disagree with the OP in the main. I'd absolutely have Robertson as a world class left back though, he has a really balanced skill set and can play a fair few systems.

Some simpletons struggle to grasp this simple concept... 🤦♂️
TAA not world class? The guy has the record number of assists for his position in the PL. I believe this season and last he was 2nd in assists only to KDB (Robertson is 3rd incidentally joint with Silva!!). Bringing those sorts of numbers from RB makes you world class regardless of any other deficiencies (part of the best defence in the league over the last 2 years mind you...)
In response to Eric, Pavard has 5 assists, Hakimi 10 (2 less than trent) PSG right backs between them have hardly any to speak of. So he blows them out of the water offensively.
And let's not just focus on stats. The quality of his delivery and free kicks are clear for anyone to see. Plus his defensive game hasn't looked dodgy for ages and is mostly explained by the fact he's told to push forward and others are specifically there to cover him.

Sterling has performed at a consistently high standard for 3 seasons now. 1 in 2 goal rate last 3 seasons for a winger. When you think about what City have done in that time I think he deserves to be called world class.
